Thanks for this even-tempered and reasonable analysis.
I think you're right and I think we should all be aware that these girls are from modest means and have pretty much very little in their lives and are prey to falling for a gringo w/ charm, looks and money. Fortunately I have only two of those.
That is all

left the planet.
good luck w those rules.
i think as long as a bunch of lies and expectations aren't being laid out there a friendship can be forged as well as whatever else both parties need.
far from an expert but if i find something that works i'm not in a hurry to run away from it or try to invest in it heavily either. we all know these things aren't perfect and can test the level of our acceptance for what it is but at the same time damn its good.

I can attest to the fact that you truly live by the words you write, amigo, quite different than many of the know-it-alls and hypocrites we find on this board, in CR and in life. Your camino was very unique and individual, not many could have done what you have done. I for sure would have bailed after the "looking evil in the eye" trial you experienced. But you didn't bail. You came back stronger and claimed that beautiful creature for your own, ran with it, and made it work. The board is legion with the Rolltide stories of failure but rarely do we acknowledge the success stories. Not as interesting to read are they...? Kudos to you LaD as one of the few who is winning at this game and finding your own path to your own happiness. :!:

+1000...sure it wasn't an easy road but you stuck too it and are reaping the dividends!

Don't listen to that man-ho Phoenix Rising and his rules...he's always been one of those 'play with fire' kind of guys

LMAO!

"contesto el telephono conyo! conyo! Dominican slang"

I think we have a case of "Español" with an English keyboard: conyo is an approximation to coño which, roughly translated, means wuss or pu*sy. Coño here was used in the context of how we, in English, would add "Goddamit!" for emphasis.

[I'll go ahead and knit-pick :)

Emotion, carelessness, translation, slang, or illiteracy aside; she should have written: "¡Contesta el teléfono, coño!" or "Answer the phone, goddamit!" ]

I love these -

racha / cucaracha (In Miami/Cuba they often use "cuca" instead.)
dine / dinero
codo / cripple (She meant "cojo" - "codo" is elbow in Español)

Scorned chica update:

With Skype, Facebook, WhatsApp, Viber, etc etc there is no escape...

Like a debilitating chronic disease, you just have to accept it.

Two years on, one year on, it just doesn't matter :|

If you do not learn from history you are destined to repeat it.

Guilty as charged.... :?

Was getting some hang-up calls from an ex recently. When I confronted her and asked her why, she denied it and replied...

That last sentence: May you rot and die slowly, that is what you deserve

Hell hath no fury as a puta scorned.
