Something very weird happen to me yesterday, while fielding a call from work, one of my favoritas asks me permission to read her email on my laptop. I said, go ahead. After she left I went to read some of my email. As this is one of the reason why I hate hotmail, Internet Explorer has actually saved her email userid and password and was login on to hotmail on my home page.

It took me about 15 minutes before I could react to know what to do. Decisions needed to be made. Do I cross that line and read her emails? Or just close IE and clear and flush all history?

I will read your comments and perspective and will let you know my decision a little later.

Moral dilemmas suck :!:

I say don't read it, and then flush IE explorer; you don't need to close IE to "clear history". Clear your IE cookies at the same time.

Is it possible she did it intentionally to see what you would do :?: :?: and it may be a test :?: :?:

The fact that I had to think about it, I voted "read some then delete". Now that I have no character and brains (failed the tests in the Smack section), what did you find?

Your computer, she used it. Her expectation of privacy should be the same as if she used a public computer. Since there is little expectation of privacy, there should be no morale dilemma. :)

J0sie....

Why do you have IE set to save passwords? I can understand username saving....but passwords? Come on man....; of course if you don't do any of your work on IE....big deal I suppose.

In answer to your question, hell yes read the stuff.....and be sure to put things back as you found 'em....as in if an email had not been read....read it and then re-set it to appear it has not been read....

This ain't about character or any of that other chivalarous woo woo....it's about inquiry; the gathering of intel; obtainment of knowledge; etc.!

(For those who are familiar with the MMPI.....I am a spike 4 [Pd scale]...and one question on that test is about what one does if one finds an addressed and stamped letter on the ground in front of a mail box. My answer to that question was "Why, you open the thing up to see if there is any money in it, right?!" The shrink says back...."NO! The "correct" is answer is YOU MAIL THE LETTER!!!!" "WHAT?!" I say back....."You mail the letter? How jacked up is that? Let's say a guy has written a letter to his girlfriend after a fight and in the letter he is telling her to fuuck off....but just as he is about to mail the letter he has a change of mind; wants to continue the relationship; and puts the letter back in his whatever......and it somehow slips out as he walks away from the mail box. Then you, duffus...come along ....Mr. Helper and mail the fuucking thing and the guy loses his girlfriend. Now that's dirty pool!!!!" The shrink says back to me "Where on earth do you come up with this nonsense?" I say back "Nonsense? How you figure that....that's a perfectly cogent possibility....and as for the thing being on a public sidewalk, I say finders keepers....". Oh well....I'm a spike 4 on the MMPI.....)

Concluding, don't mention the incident to the ever so innocent person....

By the way....how is the food at the new restaurant at La Amistad??

Whores are people too

Unless you're prepared to read something that may dramatically alter your relationship with a girl you consider a favorita, just flush it.

To survive in this hobby it takes thick skin and a certain amount of selective hearing. Looking for intel does what? Does it make the sex better? Doubt it? Could it change the way you look at her and diminish your experiences going forward, likely.

What you don't know doesn't hurt you, damned if I'd look for stuff.

And that exact scenario happens all the time. They have many favoritos, they issue many RFM's, why know the specifics?

Remember the rat I posted about on my May trip report? The puke that had been sharing info with MM girls stright from CRT? Anyways the puke had sent our mutual friend a long winded suck ass e-mail about how if she spent the night with me, he wouldn't see her anymore. She read the e-mail to me after I asked her not to. Despite this guy being a first class douchebag, I told her that rantings of mongers should be taken with a grain of salt.

What the Phuck does this have to do with J0sie's dilemma? After she used the PC in my room, she went to shower and I went to check my e-mail. There it was, she's logged in and many e-mails mention my name in the subject line.

I had no problem clearing the cache and respecting her privacy, I had just had a great night with her, why look for something to spoil it?

JOsie, you are sooooo gay! What do you care what "one of your favoritas" does when you are not there? He has a life too and if he needs to use your computer, at least give him the courtesy of privacy, no?
Or, alternatively, you could include enough money in your next trip to Western Union so he can afford his own computer!
