If anybody has any info... Somebody asked me if I knew how much a chica should have in a bank account to convince the US embassy to grant her a visitor's visa. I suspect it's no set amount but perhaps somebody has some info on this, some amount that wasn't enough or was enough. Anybody?

It's not so much about the amount of money in the account, as it is the history of deposits. Anybody can deposit $3K a month before the interview, that means little. When you go to the bank to get the history, they provide a history, I think they send it directly to the embassy. It's the history for the past year or two I believe. They look at that more than the amount. If they see a stable pattern of weekly/semi-monthly deposits, they know she has a job.

i also heard its like a lottery..it really depends on luck whether or not they are granted a visitor's visa. They can have all sorts of proof and ties to home country but will still be denied visa.
