I am looking to settle down and find a nice costa rican housewife to stay with me in CR. The qualities I am looking for are: 1)intelligent 2)educated 3)hot (DUH!) 4)feminine 5)traditional 6)family oriented. Of course it would seem the educated ones from the middle/upper classes would be a bad place to look since they would be the equivalent of the American woman feminist. I guess a younger working class lady would do the trick what do you think? |

I am always a little amazed when someone posts about wanting to settle down and spend the rest of their days with a nice non-pro from Costa Rica, of all places. I know I’m painting with a broad brush here, but Ticas are generally less than honest, less than faithful, undependable, and lazy. Costa Rica is one of the last places I would go to search for a significant other. I would highly recommend that some of you guys look a little further than Costa Rica if you’re serious about finding a Latina who is wife material. Personally, I find the women in Peru, El Salvador, Colombia, and Nicaragua to be much more affectionate, faithful, and hard working than the Ticas. Of course that is simply my own opinion based on my own experiences. Feel free to chime in if you disagree. |

I guess a younger working class lady would do the trick what do you think? My advice: Go to this place called Del Rey. It's a University located right in downtown San Jose. It's filled with all kinds of students. Some take day classes but there are more in the evening sessions. The best time to go is after 10pm when the evening classes let out. Obviously, they are intelligent and educated, two qualities you seek. There are many very good-looking ones and Latinas are all very feminine and traditional. Walk in, and just walk up to one you like and begin a conversation. They are extremely receptive to gringo tourists (Americans). Many are actually also looking for good husbands, so you already share the same objectives/goals. There is a good chance you can get some on the first date, so you'll know if there's chemistry. There are many family-oriented ones also, another important factor. Most have K*ds and support families, they're very hard workers. Let ue know how you make out. |

Kale, Obviously, what you are looking for is not to be found in a "brothel atmosphere." You should know better. If you are sincere about finding what you describe, it is possible in Costa Rica....just not where you plan on looking. First off, you would need to speak the language. You would need to immerse yourself in the culture, away from the "gringo gulch atmosphere," in a community where you would be around the type of women you are looking for. Even then, there are no guarantees. It would take a lot of effort; meeting the family and being accepted, courting the tica, etc......a lot of time, effort and money. Just because you're a foreigner, doesn't mean that decent tica women are going to fall all over you. Zebra |

I had the same thought about three years ago when I first hooked with the Spratt.....

Kalel21, You joined the board almost 2 years ago, in Feb. 2006. This is primarily a CR mongering site. And after 20 months of being a member, you still don't understand the "game" yet? And you're still seeking answers for where to find a chica to settle down with? With all due respect, I'm not buyin' it. Have you ever been to CR? Have you ever been to the Del Rey?

MG, You may very well be right, that it is indeed a joke. But what the heck? All is not in vain. This thread will serve as a "refresher lesson" for other guys out there who have similar ideas. You know how it is.....We can't stress this lesson enough.

Marriage material CAN be found in the Gulch, but it is EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY,...... EXTREMELY RARE. I'm not about to saying one of these girls can't be the one and change her ways, but in all likelyhood, this is not the case. It would take HUGE amounts of money, and watching her. Is that worth it? I guess it depends on the girl... |
