I do not think it is required to have a 1000$ balance in the bank account to get the visa. It is too late for that anyway because the bank records would show the recent deposit. Sending it to her now would not help anyway.

Having family ties, a house, car, bank accounts etc are the things they are looking for to justify granting the visa. If she has everything except the bank account, you never know. She could tell them it has always been her dream to visit the USA, she is saving to go and hopes to be able to go next year.

If she only has family ties and 1000$ in the bank , I think she would be turned down anyway.

If she has friends in the USA , a couple , or a woman friend, that could help her. But they will ask for their names and address.

You have done all you can to help her.

For you guys wanting to bring a chica to the USA, READ AND REREAD all of the above. Leave well enough alone. Use the money you will be wasting to make 3-4 extra trips here to see her(if you must see just one). Getting a visa to the USA for a single chica with no very strong family ties, a home, a good job, money in the bank, and or a lot of political and fianicial influence, AIN'T GOING TO HAPPEN!

I know one Tica, 40 yo with a daughter here, a very good job and a house. She works as an adminstratora with the CR council on womens rights. She wanted to go to NY shopping and then to DC for an international confrence on womens rights. SHE WAS TURNED DOWN! Why you ask??? Seems that somehow they found out she had dated a Gringo. Duh :?:

As for fiance or spousa visa, be prepared to spend a lot of time, money and effort. I am under the impression that the embassay her is pretty much OK, but believe it or not All US embassy personal are not honest, jejeje. When I was trying to get my ex wife to the states, it took 11 months(we were married), several thousands of $$$ $100 aplication fees became $300 to get them done in less than 6 months???? And a squicky clean past on my part to say nothing of how clean her past had to be. Hundreds of forms, everyone of which have to be in english and in spanish and noterized by the state department of the state where issued and within 30 days of use. Hell I became a certified translator just to save several hundred $$$ in translation fees--one of the crazy things with governments--They would accept me translating my own papers, go figure!
