I don't like being late and I don't like others being either.
My patience may be 5 minutes or it may be 20.
After 5 minutes I may easily choose not to wait anymore.

That said, why would I wait in the first place when I can just go to a bar to pick up someone.

Do you guys make a habit of lining girls up like dates?
Personally I would favor just picking who I fancy at a given time.

That said, things are done differently in different places and going with the flow (or when in Rome ....) may yield better results.
Thoughts?

Many very interesting perspectives and all with elements of truth based on personal preference and mood.

As someone meeting someone in a public environment where you can be entertained by eye-candy such as the HDR then waiting a few minutes or so isn't such a big deal, but if your appetite is whet for this particular solo engagement with this person ... then as every minute passes the appointed time and the realization begins to arise that you will have to alter plans to a possibly less the preferred "Plan B" (...there should always be a plan B) this can be annoying and possibly a buzz-kill.

Invariably, when taking a getaway to a place like San Jose the most precious thing for me is typically time...even more so then money. Knowing I may be here for a few days or a week ... knowing that I may not return for months .... well there is a point where you have to maximize the time you have without feeling like your keeping to a clock. There is a fine line between being on vacation and putting yourself on the very schedule that you hoped to escape by going away in the first place ... to simply wanting to fit in and do all or most of what you desire within the "limited" time you have.

The unpredictable can be oh so exciting .... but to me what is not exciting is consistently having "MY" time on a vacation/getaway wasted or dictated by someone who simply just thinks its all about them and they can appear when they want and do what they want...and I should just be damn happy that they arrived

Somebody mentioned previously that "WE" on a whole created this monster ... and that I don't disagree with to a certain extent, but just as some have created it ... by no means do it have to be continually endorsed....therefore... for me its a matter of not putting a particular value in waiting as in 5 min, 10 min, 30 min, etc. but simply waiting until it becomes almost an annoyance (whether its 5 min or 20 min) and then go on to the next option whatever that is ... should she then show up ... well ... some tica will have just learned her first American lesson in accountability.
