Florida - No offense intended, but I think he was expressing frustration over the unrelenting pointless posts, an opinion that is shared by more than a few I am sure. Yeah, an occasional one liner or groaner is fine. But continuously posting for count or just to bump a thread gets old, respectfully, in my humble opinion.

Threads end up hijacked (like...this one...) or arguments and hard feeling get started when someone pokes back. "Go phuck yourself", even when eloquently surrounded by smileys, is still a pretty negative comment.

CC - You may be right...some of my hallucinations are more real than others, right Harvey?

I was reading this thread, and when I saw Florida's first post ("shave my balls"), Haywood's post ("there's the door") and then Florida's last post, I assumed that they were simply "3 words" that they expressed to Chicas. I don't pretend to be an expert in the Floridian language, but I saw nothing offensive. Of course, this is just my opinion. Florida could have explained himself, but such multiple concepts are difficult to articulate to any great extent with emoticons.

IMHO, it doesn't matter what any of us thinks, or says. When the heart is set on a course, the mind is of secondary nature and not engaged.

Just want to make clear with my somewhat cynical and slightly tongue-in-cheek original post that I'm not referring so much to my own novia experience (which despite its ultimate futility had some nice moments that I will always cherish) but rather what I would advise going off the sum total of knowledge and experience as expressed many times over on the subject here on the board.

And no wonder. More often than not these "novia" hook-ups occur via a PFP encounter with a prostitute - where a pre-existing culture and mindset exists of taking advantage of the "customer" for the best possible deal. Said prostitute may genuinely have a "heart of gold" and successfully transition to "former prostitute" status, but more often than not, you end up with a situation like that detailed in the currently running thread about Karina's sister Sophia. If that sounds peachy to you, go for it.

Personally, if I were ever again to jump into the novia game, here's how I would do it. First, have the luxury of spending an extended time living in the country - say, three months minimum - and immerse myself in the culture and in better learning the language. Next, make a concerted effort to meet regular "non-pro" girls with good jobs from good families,
skewing towards their late-20's/early 30's, preferrably with no prior marriages or Ch*ldren, with interests and hobbies in common with my own. Finally, actually court them - spend time getting know each other, go out on regular dates - all the while offering the respect they deserve and insisting on the same in return.

And like QuickBlueFox said in another thread recently, I probably wouldn't pick Costa Rica as my first choice to try this - especially when places like Medellin and Lima seem to offer much better chances of success.
