From my post you must know that I am a newbie. I am 27, soon to be 28. Originally from the island of Trinidad and Tobago and lived in the US for 8 years. I am heading to CR for a few months starting in January. I also plan on becoming a VIP on here. I have been married and divorced once already and it was not too nasty. She got the house in miami though.lol

I am reading about CR for the past 3 months or so I came across this board about a month ago and have been doing more reading than anything else.

I came across spanisheyescostarica.com and some other guy who did some sought of dating match making service and I want to know if these things are for real...are these girls regular ticas or pros? I also asked because a friend of mine who was in CR a couple years ago wanted to start a similar site but with a different structure. He asked me about it because I am an internet marketer and SEO manager so I kinda know the deal with getting people to the site with a low budget. One of my other friends who is coming to CR in February from the states wanted to use spanisheyes...any idea of these things are for real?

I suspect that it is about as legitimate as any other dating website. I tried it for a little while and it was a waste of money for me. In my opinion no dating sites are worth the cost of membership. Spend the money on Spanish lessons instead. It will go a lot farther in the long run.

Some sites use old/expired/fake profiles. Assuming that this site is using current profiles, my bet is that there are a mix of pros and regular ticas. That doesn't mean that the site is trying to scam you. It just means that the same things that might motivate a girl to sell her ass at the Del Rey (giving herself and/or her Ch*ldren a better life) would also motivate some of them to sign up for one of these matchmaking agencies. It would be next to impossible for the company to be able to guaruntee that a chick never worked as a hooker before.

For real examples, a few weeks ago on a goof, I decided to check the Costa Rican Women's profiles on one of the biggest foreign marriage/matchmaking sites. The VERY FIRST profile that came up for Costa Rica was a chick I picked up from the Del Rey a year or two ago. I know that she had previously worked as an escort before that. Here is the thing: If you met her, you would probably NEVER know (except for possibly the fake tits). She is easily one of the smartest ticas I have found in the Del Rey. Her English is EXCELLENT, and it is not hooker English either. She actually was taking formal English classes.

If I guy snagged her, he would probably think he was the luckiest guy on the planet, and he MIGHT be right. She wasn't a scammer, and wasn't a frequent Del Rey girl. However, the biggest issue is that she DESPERATELY wants to come to America (her sister is already living here). I really think she would have done anything to come here. However, I question how hard she would try to make the relationship work once she got across the boarder.

I checked out the site you mentioned above. After scanning the pictures, I found one girl that I am almost positive I picked up at Key Largo last year. The makeup was different, but her nose and face are pretty distinctive. The good news is that if you pick her you won't have to worry about her having some Tico boyfriend on the side. When I knew her, she was in a pretty serious lesbian relationship with this hottie. From talking to her, she wasn't a true lesbian, she was just tired of being with some tico who refuses to work and support his family.

Thanks a lot man. I am not necessarily looking for a gf or "novia"(got to get use to these terms). I am a relatively young guy, moderately successful and educated and I have no problem getting a gf in Trinidad or the US. I guess it is just a kind of exotic kinda fantasy that some guys have. But as you know, I am a noob.. I was also considering started one of these sites. I am heavily in internet marketing and search engine optimization and I did some analysis of these sites and they are not very competitive online an dare not dominating the internet. That is another reason why I was asking. I know there is a market of foreign men looking for these girls but I was not sure if there was a market of girls looking to hook up with foreign men. I got a PM from one of the guys on here and he said that he is pretty sure that there is a market. I guess I will see when I get there..any other comments are welcome..

There are a lot of chicas on spanisheyes and I know of 2 who I picked up at the Del Rey. They are no longer on there but were for about 1 1/2 years. I met a guy staying at LaAmistad who paid $600 to join. He went to Sat nite party and picked up a cute chica and took her out to eat and dancing. But that was the end of it. He told me I could go with him to the party for $350, but decided my dinero was better spent elsewhere. If I lived down there I would consider joining because you could go every weekend and certainly meet a better class of chicas than at the Del Rey or SL.

in my experience all dating sites are scam and i tried at least 20 including some from CR.

I have a life membership with Spanish Eyes and attend most of their parties. Have met some nice girls and always have a good time. Most of them are looking for security in a relationship. The older I get the harder it is for me to make a committment. I enjoy my life here and it would take a special lady to convince me to change it.
