OK Sports Fans, just want to test the waters as I see less and less folks posting in what used to be my favorite section; tales of mad love and mayhem that made "The Jerry Springer Show" look like Oprah. I have to admit that the reason I liked the section is that the long dead German in me suspects it is simple Schadenfreude; pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others.

In that lots of would be Romeos come down to CR, romance a hot silicon enhanced Tica, Colombiana whatever, return back home and then she systematically strips said rube of anything she can get via Western Union or the proverbial Golden fleece; the funded Debit Card to be followed perhaps lies, sex, more lies, more gifts, more lies, an engagement or marriage and the inevitable crash and burn. This used to be followed by a posting of true confessions and "so sorry" commiserating from assorted brothers. Now, in the past it has been pointed out that the game is different if you actually live "in country" as you are on a more than equal footing with the little holies and I will agree that this is indeed the case, so my poll questions are related to why no traveler to/from CR seems to want to share their tales of romance with the assoted brotherhood. And one of the poll questions is not "Is TB an asshole for posting this" because the answer to that question is a resounding "HELLYES" :D :D :D

If I had to guess it was the unrelenting beating up on any Novios who posted about there experience by the guys who only catch and release. I can not really blame them, who wants to get hammered over their choices. There are many CRT guys who live here with girlfriends and many who travel here that have some form of relationship beyond pure p4p. The stories and dialogue are helpful, especially to new guys who tend to get invovled too easily down here.

I agree with BK; This is a very important section. I also agree that many guys are afraid to post about their "novia" experiences because of the verbal beating they would have to take. Yes having a NOVIA in another country is not the smartest thing most of us ever did, sure having a relationship of more than a couple of (paid for) hours with a prostitute is not really a wise choise in most cases, sure sending money to a chica in another country is really kind of "stupid", sure a 60 yo pot-bellied, gray haired old fart falling in love with a 20 yo sexi latina is almost never going to workout, BUT, we are men and men do stupid things, even when we know better!!! And , NO, we do not seem to be able to learn from example (in this case the heartbreak of fellow mongers) but reading, and seeing ourselves (even if we won't admit it) in the words of someone else, is not a bad thing. This section, and the occasional thread about someone's problems, heartbreak, and or loss of money is a constant reminder to all of us that we are after all "only Human"

Bingo BK!

Can you imagine the honest, yet helpful stories we would hear if they could "hide" their screen name when posting. I have heard, first hand, more "sappy/stuck/fked/know it all" stories sitting on a bar stool in SJO than I have read on this board :? .

Funny how some guys will spill their guts over a beer, yet get on an anonymous message board, and they clam up afraid to lose "cred"

Not exactly on topic but, does anyone with first-hand experience n the process for registering as the parent of a Ch*ld born here when the parent is a US citizen? Also what is the residency process for a parent?
