Having personal friends that are working chicas I can tell you what makes them aroused... the smell, the feel, the sight of cold hard cash. That's all it takes and they're ready to blow and hump as long as the money is flowing.

I guess I see what you are saying, Pacifica55, but I am just not you. I won't doubt a word you say relating to your experiences. You are obviously very self-assured. But it seems to me that just as there are 'born salesmen' there are 'born ladies-men.' I happen to have a close friend who has unusual success because he can't imagine any woman not wanting him. As much as I sometimes envy some of his success, I also don't want to be him. His strength is his big ego. It works for him. I'm not him, can't turn myself into him and frankly don't want to be him. He's comfy with himself and that's great. You're comfortable with yourself, that's great. I'm fine with myself and I'm ok with the fact that I'll have my share of duds and sometimes bypass a potential gem.

My original point was that I find myself missing the personal touch, the excitement that I used to feel when I was making connections that didn't include paying cash for company. Perhaps your p4p experiences down here feel as good or better than your freebie experiences as a younger man. Great. That's not how it feels for me. Yes, it may all be 'in my head.' I've got quite a bit of stuff 'in my head.' I like most of it.

If you get all you need from p4p, great. I admit that I get MORE of what I need now than I did in the States. I just find myself always searching for that 'missing something' that comes along once in a while. My original post was just my pondering whether I should bother looking for a 'novia' or not. I'm still on the fence, to be honest. I'll probably be on the fence till I die. I like it there.

The funny thing is that I can empathize with both of you.

I have lived in almost every party place and only several years ago rented a mansion with five other guys in the Hollywood Hills and threw paid after-hour parties that backed up the Sunset Strip to pay for rent while attending graduate school. With that built in-status, I couldn't beat the girls away. Much of my success with women has always been that I was the most fun to be around who partied extremely hard on many different things. This continual energy was very magnetic for women.
Yet, currently, I do not go out much in the States because "having game" requires time and focus which are currently directed elsewhere towards business pursuits. Also, my focus on business has put a far more serious side to me which has definitely “dampened my game”.

I have also been torn between the P4P and non-P4P world (I wrote up a lengthy trip report) even in Costa Rica. During the past two years, I have accomplished what would be considered high status among Costa Rica mongerers: slept with one of the most sought after receptionist/bartenders for free, brought a hot girl home from the Del Rey for free (whom I later discovered to be a Pantera Rosa stripper only then she had added bolt-ons), and had a beautiful girl seek me out for a one night stand on hi5.com.

These experiences were better for me than P4P (except for a couple of amazing girls). I only mention this because the "free" part automatically removed the transaction part. I am still making the transition to becoming a mongerer and can really empathize with what Bilko says. My difficulty with P4P is trying to create the more GFE experiences (the money is irrelevant). I was actually going to start a thread asking if there were more experienced GFE mongerers who would be in Costa Rica 1/24 to 1/29. Note: My younger relative age of 36 might have something to do with my ability to straddle the fence.

From reading the Brazil posts and PMing with Ron Medellin he might have discovered a more GFE P4P culture so if my plans permit, I might join his crew in April as an excited newbie.
