Would there be any interest for a SB pool?

I am always running office pools, so if there's interest, I'd set it up. People can sign up starting on Thursday at the poker game. If you aren't going to make it to CR but would like to play, you can Paypal your "points" to me and I'd sign you up and send you your numbers once they are drawn on Saturday.

10x10 grid, 10K "points" for each box.

1st qtr winner 125K
halftime 250K
3rd qtr 125K
final 500K

Let me know.

That should make it interesting.

10,000c per square?
That's a lot of jack, Jack ($20).

I agree.

Orange, I like the idea of a SB pool, but at $20 per square, most guys will probably only play one or two squares. With this, you'll need to get 50 - 70 guys to participate. Plus, doing it with e-mail communication, and PayPal, etc, you're setting yourself up to take on a "Project". You don't want to be an accountant while you're in CR. You've got better things to do!

Why not just do a Gentleman's pool, with the squares being $5 each.
I think it'll be easier to fill up the board, and you'll probably only need 20 or 30 guys to complete the board.

My dos colones worth. Either way, I'm in......
Mikey-B.

I was just going to say that... $10, but $5 would probably work best, people would buy more boxes, sell out quicker so i can concentrate on "other, more important" things.

OK, $5 a box. I want to give everybody a chance to win (but i definitely don't want to make this a project), so for those who will not be in CR and want to play, you must Paypal the funds to me by Jan 31st (PM me for more).

Those who will be in CR, I'll have the grid made up when I arrive on 2/2.

With the amount of guys going to the SL on Thurs night alone (2/2) you should have it filled up before the end of the night.

Good call on the $5 per box. I'm sure it'll be a lot easier all around, and less of a head-ache.

GO COWBOYS !!!!!!

I hope that I'm not being disrespectful by running a pool in his bar if Bill is running a pool himself. Maybe I should discuss it with him ahead of time.

I didn't realize that Bill was running a pool also. You might want to give him a call on this one. But I'm sure that if he's not running a pool, I don't think he'd have a problem with this. After all, it's Costa Rica !!!!!!!!!!!

Pura Vida Baby............ :!:

From his post, it looks like Bill will have a box pool at the party so I will not run one.

Aah. The ubiquitous grid pool. Reminds me af a story from about 30 years ago. I was assigned a consulting job in the mid 70's during our last oil boom in a little town in Louisiana called Morgan City. Morgan City was downtown central for all of the off shore oil rigs in the gulf and the workers would usually spend 30 days out at sea and then come in to town for a few days. Well, the first night I walked into a small bar in town and notice a gird pool behind the bar taking bets for the Rose Bowl. Mind you this is in the middle of July and the grid is half full. I ask the bartender, "how much for a square". In his best southern accent he replys with a smile that I could have any open square for $1,000 a pop. Now that my firiends, is a real grid pool.
