NYC to San Jose, direct in just under 5 hours on TACA out of JFK. Leave JFK at 6:40am, gets to SJ at 9:40am. No traffic to airport, no lines for check-in, generally less stupid people to annoy me, etc. Leaves SJ at 6:15pm, arrives in NY 1:15am. Same thing, less people, etc. The times are off by an hour now because of our daylight savings time. $355RT in October, $453 in February. Best deal in my mind. Great fares, new planes, cute flight attendants. Delta screwed me in Atlanta (misplaced my luggage) and I was stuck overnight since I missed the last flight to NY that night.

Yo JDR

That's why I dont go via Dallas anymore. The evening flight DFW/SJO is nearly always late. That can extend the trip up to 15 or so hours and arriving in SJ at around midnite after all day travel cuts even more time from my precious vacation.

I live in Florida. You guys don't want to hear how quickly I can get to CR if I have to. The longest part is early check-in for international flights at MIA and not the time actually spent in the air.

Coming from boston is about 7.5 hours. Not bad unless AA is running late as usual. But its all worth it once you land. Ticket prices are high though.

That depends on which part of the world I am in at the time. My common take off is from SFO/PHX/SJO though Amercia West. I like the direct flight from PHX. Price varies depending on season, usually averages from $400 to $600 or so.

Same here! 2 hrs, 16 minutes flight time. Takes longer to drive to MIA Airport and get checked in, than the actual flight time!

Newark, NJ (EWR) to San Jose direct flight approx. 5 hours on Continental. You have two choices. Morning flight at 8:00 am reaches San Jose around 12:15 in the afternoon. Evening flight is at 5:00 pm reaches San Jose around 9:30 pm. Coming back from San Jose I like the choice of afternoon flight around 1:15 pm and arrives 7:15 pm. They also have morning flight leaving San Jose at 9:00 am and reaches Newark at 3:00 Pm. Paid $360 in September and I have a flight already booked for February. It is $550. Continental has nice service. Good planes. I prefer direct flights.
