A carry-over from Pops "Why do you Monger" thread. People have a way of twisting the words of others. My post never said it was acceptable to use words as weapons to purposely hurt another, but many of you fly off the handle without reading the words that were written. Many of the posters that rallied to the politically correct banner should go back through their own posts of old and count the number of times they have used the words "whore" and "puta". So, that said, get off your high horses and explain to me how, why and when should we use these words when DISCUSSING OR DESCRIBING a working girl in the gulch. I'm not being a jerk here, I am genuinely interested in hearing how you guys feel we should describe the chicas. And as everyone will have an opinion, let's not dogpile on the outriders. Ok, so I am in Calle Seis with a "lady". I give her $18 to blow me bareback and swallow the load. Is she a "whore"? (I am not saying to call her one to her face, I am asking if you think it's a fair statement that this young woman is a whore.) Am I wrong to use the word in a forum post about her? Am I degrading her by using it? Am I degrading her by using the word "prostitute"? As for "puta", it is the ONLY word I have heard the locals use when discussing this group. I have never heard the word "prostituta" used, even in homes. Prostitution may be legal, and it may be accepted, but it not respected as a form of work, *if* the word "puta" is a derogatory term as some have stated. What do you think? |

IMO, when I use a term that is degrading to any other person, I need to look inward, before I speak. When I feel good about myself, mentally, there is no need to try and place a lower status on another person, or thing. Before I speak words that places a lower status others, I need to check that thought, and see why at that moment I am attempting to raise my status within myself, by lowering theirs. I only perceive to be better than another human when my ego feels it needs to elevate my psyche. They do it out of perceived necessity (yes they could do something else). I do it because it feels good, both mentally, and physically. Who's to say which is right, or wrong? Right, and wrong, are just words made up by my ego to stroke me, at that moment, anyway. Health & happiness to all...... |

Health & happiness to all...... Understood. But isn't it a form of physical degrading activity to make a woman prostitute herself in the first place? I mean, the very word "prostitute' is degrading. "Working girl" isn't much better. Is using the terms somehow more degrading to them than the activity of using the women themselves? I see a clear difference between the following statements: 1. "She is a whore!". 2. "She works as a whore." The first is a clearly offensive statement, where the second is defining her by her work. I reject the conclusion that a word in every context can be patiently offensive. However, should we move to a more respective position in the forum where we agree to use "working girl" and agree to reject the more derogatory "whore", or is this idea offensive to some? |

FWIW, IMHO: Mistress or amante- Not very degrading... could mean a favorita who hangs with you for money or favors. Courtesan- Higher class, but a girl who engages in transactional sex for money and usually very good at what she does (eg GFE or PSE) Working girl- Neutral... applies to a girl who has sex for money... works full-time or part time to make ends meet, Prostitute or Prepago- Neutral, but implies a woman who is a "professional", (but lower class than a courtesan) who has sex for money... with little or no emotional involvement with her clients. Whore or Puta- A derogatory term applied to girls who have sex for money... also means a girl who is easy, not loyal to one guy, and tends to be promiscuous for lust, money or favors. |

I have great disdain for the "Walmart Monger" who suddenly becomes a millionaire, treating the locals like crap the moment he gets off the plane. These guys can often be spotted with a foot long cigar sticking out of their mouth while shouting and repeatedly high-fiving their friends. Devo |

This question may be best answered by an American girl who chose the profession. She lived in an apartment building I used to manage and was a cute hot 21 year old, I was late 40's, not yet exposed to Costa Rica but eager to enjoy her services. ![]() She was late on her rent once and came to my apartment and surprised me with an offer I couldn't refuse. She had noticed I was always nice to her and also leering at her when she was wearing sexy tight outfits. ![]() After that we regularly engaged in the activity and became friends. One time I used the term "prostitute" in conversation with her, not in a demeaning way, it's been so long I forgot what our conversation was and why I said it but she corrected me. She told me a "prostitute" was a street walker and that she was an "escort" since she went by referrals and an agency and informing older guys like me what she was available for. ![]() So there you have it, right from the whore's..er.. horse's mouth as they say. ![]() Seriously, I for one treat the girls in Costa Rica with respect and appreciation who service my needs. I generally call them chicas or girls. I don't demean them or insult them. I dislike the terms whore, puta, ho, whatever, although in fun here, writing on CRT I might say "ho" as it doesn't seem as harsh, it's a bit comical to me but I would never address one of these girls directly with an insulting description. ![]() I get to know many of the girls I have been with and find they are sweet lovely women trying to raise a K*D or two on their own and this is the only thing they know that can make them the money they need. I've been with several who are quite intelligent and are attending college on their earnings, planning to get out of the biz. One got into real estate and is doing quite well, she used to call me up and ask for advice since I used to be in real estate and mortgages, another called me up excited after she bought her first car when I lived here and drove over to my place to service me and show it off. ![]() Many others I have spent time with taking them to lunch, dinner, spending the night and getting to know them as people, not just fkkn machines. That actually makes them much much sexier to me when I have befriended them and we have an element of trust and respect, plus we outright enjoy each others company. I believe the guys who disdain, look down upon and belittle them find themselves time and time again receiving minimal service and they blame it on the girl or the establishment (HDR) and don't realize these girls are able to sense their hostile demeaning attitude and it's not that they don't deliver, it's that they can't. ![]() ![]() ![]() I have several favorites who really deliver for me, giving me true GFE, 3 hour sessions, etc., etc. it's not that I'm any better looking, any wittier or pay any more than the next guy, it's because they know and sense that I like them and respect them and treat them as human beings, and I find it pays off in spades. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Great thing about forums, you get to debate things in the open. I monger therefore I am a whoremonger. In some circles this is a very derogatory description. I hope I am seen as more than this by most people I come in contact with. Guy talk is neither right nor wrong. It is communication. Most people engaging in guy talk are just trying to fit in with the group they are running with. This talk has little to do with how they really feel. It does reflect upon the person using it. It demonstrates insecurity. Others who use the description of women as whores, bitches, putas are not doing it to fit in. They do it because that is their attitude about women. Women are like toilet paper, use it and flush it. Who gives a shit. She's just a whore. The reason these guys monger is to get even with women, to vent their anger. The girls don't care why we monger. They just need our money. CRT is a community of similar thinking individuals. The way we think is not reflective of society in general or every adult male in the states would be booking their flight down. We do not think exactly alike. What one person sees as acceptable conduct offends another. Getting falling down, loudmouthed drunk is something I find offensive. I have reason, my parents were alcoholics. I drink. I have no problem with people who drink in moderation, but I don't want to be around someone who is drunk and obnoxious. I don't define them as useless drunks. If I did, a good number of you would take offense and I would be short a few friends I am not any better than them. I have never been in their shoes. I have been drunk a couple dozen times in my life. Am I a whoremonger and a drunk? I hope I wasn't too obnoxious. I give people the benefit of the doubt. I think that 80% of the guys on this forum are great people. I think that this 80% looks at the lives they have and feel blessed. I think that this group would go way out of their way to help others on this board. I also think that there are people on this board who only think of themselves. Who go through life and never do anything to help anyone. To answer your question a prostitute is never a whore, never a puta. A person is much more complex and important to simply be defined by what they do to make a living. It is what she does, not who she is. |

Well said Pops. After the tour I took with you of San Jose, I was so excited about being here the first time I got el smasho and you were watching that I did not get hurt at Chubbs that first night, years ago. I appreciated that enough to contribute to the medical fund to help you when you got run over by the motociclista a couple of years ago. You are a wise friend on CRT. |

As always, just my opinions, Have a Great Day, Dave Well said, Dave. I'm an Italian (Eye-Talian to those of you south of the Mason-Dixon line) and also was raised to respect everyone and not look down on others less fortunate. Saying vulgar curse words in front of your parents was just taboo. Today I hear 20 somethings and 30 somethings roll out the fkkk word in front of their parents and due to the fact that I'm a full fledged monger and proud, it can be said I'm no prude but I cringe when I hear them, especially my friend's 21 year old daughter and a co worker f f f in front of his mom all the time casually and comfortably. My parents and I got into some altercations during my formative years, I was in the hippy generation and we fought our parents on numerous societal issues but never even entertained the idea of saying fkkk or whore. I still won't say words like that around my sister, to me it's just plain vulgar, embarrassing and low class. I'm not, however, afraid to use the term "b*tch", especially when I think of a woman named Hillary.... ![]() Ooppps...I forgot....no politics here...sorry...I slip up sometimes.... ![]() ![]() ![]() |
