Thank you.

This topic is not new to me, but the point of view offered opens alternate lines of thought for me.

Most certainly.

Bluntly, 60 AIN'T the "new 30". It's 60. Nothing sillier than to see a 60 year old TRYING to act and behave like a 30 year old. I am talking about how long I want to live and the kind and amount of health care I will consent to after 75. Americans seem to be obsessed with exercising, doing mental puzzles, consuming various juice and protein concoctions, sticking to strict diets, and popping vitamins and supplements, all in a valiant effort to cheat death and prolong life as long as possible. This has become so pervasive that it now defines a cultural type: what I call the American immortal. :!:  :?:

I read that fascinating, thoughtful piece (hard copy--I subscribe). I have a legally-enforceable Health Care Directive in place that's basically a DNR order--I will not be kept alive by artificial means if there's no hope of recovery. I do not look forward to death but I'm not going to fight it too hard either.

We get the point--no need to bludgeon. The piano player on the 1st is Roosevelt Sykes,; he and Mr. Oden had a 2-decades partnership to our delighted benefit. Modern version? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2j2PuNwQTr8 makes Allman look and sound like the southern rocker he was. Steven1 just don't get "Southern Rock". Nothin' personal, S2. :P

Now that you referenced Mr. Rodgers, this was always my favorite from him:

Why don't both you fellas take these music convos to a place they'd be appreciated? http://www.music-discussion.com/ << We could use the help, especially talking about/presenting the Blues. And hey bring your friends. << This is not competition for the time and attention of CRT Bros but rather an addition.

I clicked on the link but immediately discovered the author was scumbag Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of ballerina and fellow scumbag Rahm Emanuel.

I am certainly not interested or consider credible anything these 2 Liberal idiots cough up. Lets check in with him at 74 and see how he feels about his wish. We will quickly discover he is another run of the mill, full of shit Liberal who likes telling others how to live their lives.
