I apologize in advance for this gay thread, but it's Monday and I'm bored silly at work.

After completing my recent business trip to Asia, I have no flown in every type of plane (jet, no props  ) that is currently in service in the US. I just flew on the Airbus 380, the monster of the sky. But it's smooth as butter and very quiet.

Airbus 300
Airbus 380

Boeing 737
Boeing 747
Boeing 757
Boeing 767

Embraer 190 (and variants)
MD 80 (and variants)

What is your favorite plane?

I love the 380 since I have flown in it 4 times. The 12-14 hour flights zoomed by. Grant it, I was upstairs., but I saw Economy and it's much better than any other Economy section that I've seen before.

BTW--thanks Detroit for ruining my weekend. Pay your phucking bills.

longer flights and bigger planes always work. not a real plane geek but the airbus is pretty smooth.
ultimately i just like the ones get me to my destination alive.
also the ones that make insane amounts of noise are not my favorite. i think the dc10s might have been pretty noisy. i remember a pilot telling me it was a turbo fan i think.

That jet is not an option to CR unfortunately, so unless you're in business class they all are a bad ride. I prefer TACA, now Avianca, free drinks/movie, 2 bags free, more room. But no directs, change in Nica or El Sal.

My prediction is Detroit is only the 1st and you'll see several more "major" municipalities filing BK within the next 18 months. Pensions are killing them aside from the rest. Looks like the pensianados in Detroit are up shit creek.

Avianca sucks now. They used to serve hot meals , but now it's a crappy wrap and plaintain chips.. The full bar has also been scaled down to a couple of varieties. Also, most of the planes are small which makes for a bumpy ride.. You feel EVERYTHING. I'm not religious, but I find myself praying a lot!!

You should not fly Avianca, then. :|

I don't have any allegiance. I fly whatever airline gets me there cheapest.

Gentlemen,

IMHO......The B357`s after 15 years of flying here & back...were best for me!

Rarely catch one now. The bathrooms were a big plus for me.....

Always thought the 777 was the most comfortable of any airliner I've flown in. However, with the new cabin altitude (lower), bigger windows, more humidity and inflight entertainment/internet offered on 787s (which you left off your list Orange), think once they work out the bugs it (787) will be the best for passengers AND the environment being 20% more fuel efficient.

Good point Steve.

But I think I can live without adding it to my list for now. I'm not a big fan of fires while I'm on board.

I'm a fan of the 777-300. The 777-200 is great but the 300 configuration has an additional 1-2 inches of legroom.

Or maybe not coming back. Probably not fair to say that in view of their huge share of the commercial market. http://www.boeing.com/news/techissues/pdf/statsum.pdf is a boing publication on their crashes.
