Beautiful girl, 'Breeze, that is a fact (a tad too gringa if you take my point, but very pretty none the less)

You cannot argue the record of Nick Sabin (After all Bill Parcells says "You are who your record says you are" - one of the only things I agree with him about) multiple national championships at 2 different schools w/in the last few years - but I truly wonder:

Why was he such a plain faliure with the Dolphins - I know there is a difference in college vs the pros, but the talent level this man has should have produced something - I mean with the Dolphins, he did not screw up - he really phucked UP in so many way and not just on the field (some have said he was a QB or a receiver or 2 away from greatness but you could likely say that about many teams - with winning records)

If a half - or a third - of what was reported about him as a human being was true (and not just him lying about going to Alabama; face it, everyone lies if it serves their interests, especially at his level - mostly  ) the guy makes me puke.

You know, I get it - I really do - fans, especially rabid ones, want their teams to win, and are not fussy about how its done - I just think Nick Sabin personifies the "Peter Principal" (that an individual eventually rises to the level of his incompetency) Talented College coach, a complete faliure in the NFL.

Evidently success as a college coach does not necessarily mean you will duplicate that as a coach in the NFL. Scuba has identified Nick Sabin as an example. I am sure their are many others some who come to mind are UM coaches Butch Davis and Dennis Erickson along with Steve Spurrier, Lane Kiffin and Bobby Petrino. Off course some make it like Jimmy Johnson from UM to the Cowboys.

Don't really know the reason except might be that a college K*D has a lot to lose so they follow the rules and work hard to make it while an NFL player can break them and give lip service to hard work and his agent will find another team to take "a chance" with him. But that is just a guess.

There was a better chance of sum fuggly monger using the false pretenses and advice on this board talking down an HDR chica to $60 then ND winning that game...

Back before the BCS system started, ND would have never been on the same field as Alabama...I'm sure there's a "10" chica and monger analogy in there somewhere..

Nick Sabin explains some of the difference between coaching a college team and an NFL team.

By Craig Davis South Florida Sun Sentinel

2:02 p.m. EST, January 8, 2013
FORT LAUDERDALE—

In the aftermath of winning his third national championship in four years at Alabama, Nick Saban reiterated that he is not interested in returning to coach in the NFL.

The Crimson Tide coach indicated Tuesday that the frustration in trying to attain that level of gratification when he coached the Miami Dolphins is what drove him back to college football.

“In the two years that I was here I had a very, very difficult time thinking that I could impact the organization in the way that I wanted to or in the way that I was able to in college,” who left the Dolphins following the 2006 season after going 15-17 in two seasons.

“And it was very difficult for me. Because there is a lot of parity in the NFL. There's a lot of rules in the NFL.”

Saban, who can bring in a blue-chip class of recruits every year at Alabama, said the restraints of the draft and salary cap are difficult obstacles to overcome in the NFL.

“You can draft a player that is there when you pick. It might not be the player you need. It might not be the player that you want,” Saban said. “You have salary-cap issues. We had them [with the Dolphins].

“You’ve got to have a quarterback. We had a chance to get one here -- we sort of messed it up,” he added, alluding to the choice of obtaining Daunte Culpepper instead of Drew Brees, who went on to win a Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints. “So I didn’t feel like I could impact the team the same way that I can as a college coach.”

Considering all that he has achieved since leaving the Dolphins, along with a number of coaching vacancies in the NFL, led to inevitable speculation that he might seek a redo in the professional ranks.

“I came to the Miami Dolphins for the best owner, the best person that I’ve ever had the opportunity to work for,” Saban said, referring to then-Dolphins owner H. Wayne Huizenga.

“I kind of learned from that experience that maybe this is where I belonged. And I’m really happy and at peace with all of that.”

Saban didn’t sound peaceful in having to address the issue again. His emphatic assertion that he intends to remain at Alabama sounded very similar to the one he delivered about remaining with the Dolphins – just before he jumped ship and high-tailed it to Alabama.

“How many times do you think that I’ve been asked to put it to rest? And I’ve put it to rest. And you continue to ask it,” he said of the NFL rumors. “So I’m going to say it today that, I think somewhere along the line you learn a lot from the experiences of what you’ve done in the past.”

Later, in exasperation he added, “No matter how many times I say that, you all don’t believe me. So I don’t even know why I keep talking about it.”
