The R&R HOF has been a joke for a long time. They let Abba, Madonna and the Beastie Boys in, but Alice Cooper was not elected until last year, and bands such as Rush and Deep Purple are still not in! DEEP PURPLE...WTF?! Speaking of Deep Purple, their great keyboardist, Jon Lord, passed away last week at age 71. I repeat, the R&R HOF is a joke! |

Agree with Brother GringoTim, or as one of the Sex Pistols said, "A piss stain." For more, see this (but focus on the Criticism and Controversy sections: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_and_roll_hall_of_fame |

Mark Farner's Grand Funk Railroad never elected! I petitioned the HOF over the years but a waste of time. Look at this video, this has got to be one of the greatest live jams of all time! http://youtu.be/0x6chChxzV0 |

Good for them! I'm amazed that they elected Iggy (Pop) and the Stooges a couple of years ago. His acceptance speech was rather 'biting', to say the least. Here it is, along with their performance... http://youtu.be/JWDkMIQLkkY http://youtu.be/PMKFLHx2c-M I concur with Zubake3 regarding Grand Funk Railroad. What a show they put on at Shea Stadium in '71... http://youtu.be/fyF5J7au1jE I still think the biggest 'slight' has to be Deep Purple. They've been around since 1968! Hell, they should be in the HOF for 'Smoke on the Water' alone! |

I was gonna post this at 100 views but I will post it now, hell, I got 60 views and probably 10 of them were mine. I made this up. I was bored and drinking vintage Ron Cortez, vintage, last year. I did see an article where Meat Loaf was "IN" the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame but he paid $6.00 dollars admission like everyone else. I am sorry if my stupid drunk rumor did anybody any harm. I am sorry for being a drunk. But I have to go because my ex Nica Gorda's gringo boyfriend is out of town and were having Movie night. I would Never have a microwave in my home. We use the StirCrazy available on Amazon.com. http://www.amazon.com/West-Bend-82306-6 ... orn+popper |

This OP had the ring of truth. As pastiche/parody, it worked. See this: http://music-mix.ew.com/2010/09/28/rock ... -nominees/ |

Look at this video, this has got to be one of the greatest live jams of all time! http://youtu.be/0x6chChxzV0 While only SLIGHTLY embarrased that I too was a MAJOR LEAGUE Grand Funk fame, that has no bearing on the fact that GFR CONTROLLED rock and roll for at least two years. "Purists" will say that GFR was a put together band by music suit and tie boys (which is pretty accurate) and don't "deserve" to be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. BS TO THAT!!! So many of the early bands were rip offs of Chicago and Delta blues boys that it is beyond amusing (can we say Rolling Stones?). Unlike the Monkees (an also "put together band"), GFR DID actually create some music and their live performances could be major league outstanding: Far better than the "Grateful Dead" who generally played out of tune in my experience..... This song weren't no shabby piece of bull butter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8MYsii4DZY (Closer to Home) |

No bull butter here either but how about a Prairie Oyster? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYitamBd ... re=related << Take this as between a band/leader and his audience. You know, a meta thing. |
