Here's the deal, gang: I've been a hat-wearing man for 45 years and all of a sudden these last years I'm fashionable once again. My point? "Everything old is new again". That was a list of timeless music that was designed or used to promote a feeling, not necessarily to be listened to too closely. Plus there were some serious rarities there very much of the ethos that most folks haven't heard thus new music to a new audience. I don't know that any of these tunes were subject to a BPM meter or the sterile vagaries of Auto-tune. And your objection is...?

My experience is that those songs won't cut it with the girls we enjoy and to whom we have dedicated this website.

Just a few mongering years ago, my Ipod was filled with the music of my youth, i.e., songs of the 60's and 70's. I enjoyed waxing nostalgic with Spanky, PR, BKTuna and others, listening to this music, and we even had a few foo foo parties with this music as background. The guys enjoyed the music, but the girls, for the most part, found it lacking.

Then I had my first trip to Rio and I HEARD the music in Help disco. It was latin, hip hop, Rhianna, and a healthy dose of it played on US radio. I had always eschewed that music but it got into my head at Help, and I saw the way the girls reacted to it. It was a real eye opener for me and I embraced it. I'm glad that I did, cause this music serves me very well in my current mongering situation (and props to Archieleach and Skosh who came up with the initial playlist which expands weekly).

So while the music you referenced my evoke a mood for you and may be quite fun, it is certainly not "guaranteed to get everybody dancing." The guys reacted the way they did because they know this, and are probably mildly amused that you didn't.

I am an old f*rt and enjoy most types of music. What I have found works for me is to get the booty shaking, no matter what music is on. It seems that Latin women have to attach themselves to any male that is moving his body (core) to the music that is playing. It doen't matter whether I am in Mexico, or MDE, if I am moving my a** to the music some young Latina will attach herself to me. Last weekend in TJ I was just standing there moving to the music and a lady came up and started to move with me. I turned her around and was grinding with her, and she loved it. You don't even have to know how to dance, just move your hips to the music, and soon a hot young Latina will have attached herself to you. I have had my a** slapped in many countries of the world.

I will try it again this weekend in TJ.

I didn't think anyone else would add to this list but with my pleasant experience with that Blue-eyed Soul Thread, didn't think I'd receive scorn either.
Finally, Brother Santa's Bro said there was a list similar to this but classic Latin music. How about posting that?
