Coach Coughlin for all his hype is nothing more than a mediocre coach. As the biggest Giants fan known to man, I watch this guy basically destroy some of the best talent in football year in and year out. How many games do we come out unprepared and unfocused? Coaching. How many times do we make ridiculous mental errors of clock management, unnecessary penalties, and complete collapses on both sides of the ball? Coaching. Aside from the miracle run of 2007 how many playoff games has he won as a Giant head coach "O" Since 2005 we have arguably some of the best talent wise top to bottom injuries aside of any team in the NFL. How many playoff Victories Take out 2007 "O" In the last 15 years only two teams have blown 21 point leads with less than 8:30 seconds to go in the 4th quarter can you name them? Giants 2006 Titans - Giants Eagles 2010. The final straw was this disgrace of a performance on Sunday.. Nobody on the his coaching staff can do any of the following. A: When you see Vick is not making any throws and simply running QB Draws for 40 yards on every play perhaps it might be time to put a spy on the guy? B: 6 Mins to go in the game down 2 TD's you don't think an Onside kick is coming? C: Eagles running up and down the field on the final drive entire team is gassed hands on knees dying, perhaps a TIME OUT would be in order to settle them down get their breath re-group to have a chance to make a play. D: Having Justin Tuck / and OSI on multiple occasions YOUR TWO BEST PASS Rushers Dropping in coverage while Vick runs QB Draws are you phucking kidding me. I could go on and on and on. Bottom line Coughlin Needs to GO Defensive Coordinator needs to GO Special Teams Coach Needs to Go And WTF IS WITH THIS RETARDED PUNTER how he has a job is beyond me. Giants are a victim of their coaching staff Coughlin SUCKS! |

Get rid of Coughlin? CRAZY talk!! Take a deep breath and get over the big loss. It happens. Players have to execute!! Players have to tackle and block!! Once you have calmed down, ask what coach you would want to replace him, then aseess how much damage that would do to the current team. Everyone wants to fire the coach until they realize what they have is pretty damn good. |

It's not just one loss, it's the total collapse last season afer starting out 8-2 and falling off the radar after blowing easy game after easy game. Blowing a 21 point lead in what was basically a divisional championship game with play-off implications is unforgivable. Coughlin is burned out and not passionate about coaching any more- his body language and the teams performance show it. Get someone new in there who is hungry and can gain the players respect, eliminate the weekly mental errors, offsides and other unecessary mistakes. It takes a strong, committed hand to lead an NFL team. With the Giants talent level they should be close to undefeated. They got completely whooped by Dallas a few weeks ago after they completely domintated Dallas previously- with a good coach, you wouldn't see those types of swings. Players have to tackle, block and execute of course, but it's the coach who trains them all week to do that and instills the fear/respect in them to do it during the game, especially the big games. As to who you want to replace him.....how about Bill Cowhers- I'll take him in a second. |

He's ready! Quote: Talk Surfaces of Bill Cowher's Return to NFL Bill Cowher could be ready to return to the NFL. Cowher, the former Steelers coach and a Crafton native, would be willing to return to coaching next season if the head job with the Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans or New York Giants became available, ESPN reported yesterday. Cowher stepped down as Steelers coach after the 2006 season, compiling a 161-99-1 record and a victory in Super Bowl XL in 15 seasons. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/5495 ... urn-to-nfl |

Quote: What makes people think that Bill Cowher is such a great coach. How many AFC championship games did he lose at home. 3 or 4 I lost count First off, as far as Coughlin, he was a great coach at one time, but that was then and this is now. He has had arguably the most talented team in the NFL for several years now and through unmotivated play, rookie mistakes (often made by veterans), stupid penalties, a multitude of unecessary delay of game penalties and many other flubs, mental errors and lack of discipline have blown tremendous season and game leads to remain as at best a mediocre team. The give away to Coughlin's inefficiency is the varying levels of play the Giants exibit in the season and recently in a single game. A good coach is responsible for momentum, motivation and keeping the team focused and consistent. The Giants have gone back and forth like a pendulum for many years now with no rhyme or reason- that's is a FAILURE in coaching. And the main reason I love my GMEN is because our owners are football men. They are into winning Is there a better coach out there than Coughlin. NO Secondly, people say Cowher is such a great coach because of this: In 1995, at age 38, he became the youngest coach to lead his team to a Super Bowl. Cowher is only the second coach in NFL history to lead his team to the playoffs in each of his first six seasons as head coach, joining Pro Football Hall of Fame member Paul Brown. In Cowher’s 15 seasons, the Steelers captured eight division titles, earned ten postseason playoff berths, played in 21 playoff games, advanced to six AFC Championship games and made two Super Bowl appearances. He is one of only six coaches in NFL history to claim at least seven division titles. It has become an article of faith among NFL pundits that the Steelers do not have a bad team two years in a row – they have never lost 10 or more games in consecutive years since the 1970 NFL merger. At the conclusion of the 2005 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers had the best record of any team in the National Football League since Cowher was hired as head coach. On February 5, 2006, Cowher's Pittsburgh Steelers won Super Bowl XL by defeating the Seattle Seahawks 21-10, giving Cowher his first Super Bowl ring. Through the Super Bowl, Cowher's team had compiled a record of 108–1–1 in games in which they built a lead of at least eleven points. |

Did you catch the last 7 minutes of last weeks game? At the end of the day all that matters is the W or the L. In the history of the NFL a "good coach" with a healthy team has never lost a divisional championship game with play-off implications like that.As far as Plaxico, I'm not even talking about the '08 season- what happened to them last year with an 8-2 record?, that doesn't happen with a good coach.
