Great post Brother...Good to see Sr. Carlos has come home and left the semi-mystical Mahavishnu stuff alone for awhile. He always was beastly good--I just couldn't follow all the places he was going. |

I know what you are saying Brother Jazzbro. Just before he released Supernatural, the first of many compilation CD's with other artists in June of 1999, he was at the 96KROCK birthday concert here in Fort Myers along with Ted Nugent and Tommy Shaw of Styx. It was a great show and just before his asking price went through the roof. He has a signature sound that separates him like many others from the rest of the pack. I mean when you hear him from the first few notes you know its Santana. Just like not many others, it's that signature sound man. The Stones, ACDC, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen and mant others, you know right away who it is and that is what makes those groups classics. |
