Does scotch whiskey contain sugar or carbohydrate?

No

Carbohydrate is basically suger ... the suger that ones was in in the mash to become Whisky is after fermentation 50/50 converted to 1) alcohol that stays and 2) carbon dioxide that leave the the mash .

If the interest is weight related... alcohol still contain a lot of energy... that you have to "burn" in your body.

God thing is though that Alcohol dont rise yor blood suger level... nice from GI perspective

A 5 cl shot of wisky is to compare with about 25-30 gram white suger from a energy point of view. or 140 Kcal or a good 15-20 minutes on the bicyckle

Viking Borg / Sweden

Hey man I had to do something--quit drinking as much (barely acceptable) or switch to the Prime Drink of 1/2 my ancestors. Funny thing--had a presumed mild cardiac event last week, spent overnight in a hospital and , when I acknowledged drinking 3-4 fingers of spirits + 2 beers a night, they added Ativan to my IV cocktail so I wouldn't get the DT's and flop out of bed. Riiight. Serious CYA going on.
