I might suggest taking up a hobby, say like Deep Sea Fishing in CR , And if I not mistaken there is a Chapter of a extremely Popular CR fishing club located in the Chicago Area, and the members- great bunch of guys- are always willing to show a newbee how it is done, especially about never tipping the deck hands the dreaded Cein.
Of course after 15 years he may need some help on hooking a one, or two -but lets hope he has not forgotten how to play with one for a hour or two with out tiring out
