IMO possibly the absolutely most stupid thing the NFL has done since talking about locating a team in London. Not playing a game there between two NFL current franchises, as they do now, but actually locating a team there. ![]() Why break their own rule, and state it is a one time thing, to hold a game in February in NJ (yes you New Yorker get real it is East Rutherford, New Jersey. ![]() Looks like another sell out to a rich owner by a wimp league czar. Move offer Bud Selig. One good thing for the TV networks. The half time show performers will be so swaddled in clothing there will be "wardrobe malfunctions" leading to them being fined. ![]() |

They seemed to have forget the game at MSP and all the lack of open connected parties ( the real reason for the game, as ID correctly stated ).The Love Boat of the Twin cities ![]() Maybe the game will be better, but what does that have to do with the Super Bowel. does any one actually watch the game besides to see if their numbers won the qt/game board? Other wise its party time!! Go JazzboCr Go-- you got the best seat in the house. I can only afford 2 consecutive playoff weekends at Casa Blanca ![]() |

Couldn't agree more with ID and the others....this is a moronic idea. Just because those other goofy games like the fog game, or the ice bowl, or the snowplow game!!!!! I'm still pissed about that one (I really need to let that go...) Just because those games were memorable, doesn't mean they were good games to watch ![]() The Super Bowl SHOULD be a game where the teams get to showcase their best in an environment where the weather neither helps or hurts the teams. |

As a NJ resident of over 30 Years, current NY Giants Season Ticket Holder and someone who has enjoyed Many a cold weather fiesta at the Meadowlands I think this is without a doubt the dumbest phucking idea I have ever heard. Bet you thought I was going the other way huh? DUMB DUMB DUMB ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Superbowl is a celebration of the two best teams that shouldn't be decided by cold, wind rain, sleet or snow. The game drags on for over 4 hours plus at least 40 minutes of half time show not to mention the 2 plus hours leading up inside the stadium where the excitement and pagentry builds to a cresendo. Don't tell me the prospect of 6 hours in 20 Plus weather in Mid February in the North East is appealing. Also as a PSL holder who helped finance the 1.6 billion dollar stadium without a roof another jackoff idea, and with only 2.5% of the alloted tickets going to Jets / Giants fans each we have little to no chance of scoring tickets anyway. All around Giants / Jets Ownership makes out the players who get there, the fans who want to attend and the jackoffs like me who helped finance this concrete jungle in the swamp get screwed. Simply stated a DUMB PHUCKING IDEA! |

Worst case scenario is that it's a relatively moderate day in February (clear day, temp in the high-30's--low-40's with little/no wind). Why? Because then the Powers That Be are liable to repeat it. No offense to the 2 teams playing and the true fans attending, but I hope it's an absolute disaster, never to be repeated. Short-term pain, long-term gain. Football is a late-summer/autumn/early-winter game; that the championship is played in deep winter is a testament to greed--but then you could say the same about the other major sports as well. |

I like the idea! all these warm city SB locations do is showcase a bunch of pansy-girly-boys. bring on the snow drifts and shit! this is football we're talking about, not croquet. |

more in line with CRT , take a look at GB cheerleaders in DEC, and then look at say Dallas, Miami, or SD to name a few, There's a reason the GB cheerleaders are dressed in Parkas and snow boots and sit on benches shivering and the other are not... That alone should have got the game down south but I have to agree with Californicationdude about football, however us GB fans think that Stalingrad was bad, every thing else is a walk on the beach on a sunny day when it comes to weather, and indoors is where you keep the beer so it does not freeze |

Ok, maybe NY... but all this talk has got the Cheederheads thinking if NY, why not GB?. Yes sir we have some great parties standing out in the middle of lake in Feb at 20 below with a 40 mph North wind, watching a hole in the ice, ( did I mention all the beer/brandy, before, during and after we do this?). Maybe the game will be great, but they did this two times before and after each cold weather game, the NFL came out with never again. The game gets reduced to nothing more then a football game, instead of a big money marketing program, and the NFL is about money and lots of it. Sponsor parties/endorsement money will get cut out if all the CEO/Board of Directors/Presidents who are wannie be jocks don't get to hang out with the players of yesterday and today. The warm weather cities provide far better opportunities for the large but private settings for them, then a hotel room.(In GB a mansion consist of a double wide with indoor plumbing ![]() ![]() AND what abut the ladies, think of the poor ladies trying to make a few dollars to pay for there college/sick mother-kids-goat/ or food/rent, How will they ever be able to find gainful employment if they are forced to wear something over there swim suits all day long and walk miles between the parties . So just for them the game should be some where warm ![]() Ladies or good football ? How about ladies during the timeouts of a good football games??? 2 minutes, that's about right |

While it may not be the greatest idea to play the SB in cold weather, there's a reason behind it, even if that reason is not officially disclosed. And this game is a one-time event. This is not going to become a precedent for future cold-weather games. Simply put, this was a gesture by the NFL to honor the memory of Wellington Mara, former Giants owner and one of the "founding fathers" of the NFL as we know it today. Mara voluntarily started revenue-sharing (sharing the billions of TV money he was getting being in the largest media market) with smaller market owners so that the league can grow. |

With my luck, my sorry ass Dolphins will be in that superbowl.. They haven't one it in my entire lifetime, so they will go and get crushed 'cause they can't play in cold weather. Or they win and nobody cares 'cause there's 4 people in the stands watching the game ![]() Who am I kidding, my sorry ass Dolphins are never winning the big one again... Never mind, carry on ![]() Cujo |

Hate to see a Brother so down on his team. The Dolphins will prevail vs. the Detroit Lions but only after besting the KC Chiefs...any year now. See, wasn't that simple? |
