if he had a Nica novia, she would have known where he was through the grapevine!
Brandon Hilderbrand told his mother that he was going to swim across Boggy Bayou in Niceville.
And he didn't show up for work that night.
Around 8 p.m., his parents called the Valparaiso Police Department, alarmed that their son might “be still in the water or lost,†according to the dispatch records. His car was still at Lincoln Park, with his keys, clothes and wallet inside, reports the Panama City News Herald.
So authorities called the calvary: the search effort included the Niceville Fire Department, the Niceville Police Department, Valparaiso Fire Department, U.S. Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Where in the word was 19-year-old Hilderbrand?
He was found sleeping at his home just before midnight. He told police that he had swum from Lincoln Park to Lions Park and then gotten too tired to swim back to his car.
No charges will be filed.
“He didn’t do anything illegal,†said Capt. David Bruckelmeyer with the Valparaiso Police Department. “He just failed to call his mother.â€
