I just read in USA Today that a 3-game meeting between these teams in June, originally scheduled for Miami, has been shifted to Puerto Rico. Thought I'd pass that along |

Well, Jeez guys--I'm just a simple fool tryin' to please. And it means cheaper plane fare to what's the homeland of a lot of Mets fans (plus they don't have to put up with all those Cubanos butchering the Mother Tongue). Win-win, right? Not that either team is worth a rabid rabbit's rectum...The Nats are the Phillies only Divisional competition...and they don't exactly have me shit-scared. GO PHILLIES! |

Since 1993, the year the Marlins were established, they have been crowned World Series Champions twice that's double the amount of times the Phillies have done so in that time frame. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

"Buy" a team, win a Championship, gut the team--is the Marlin's modus operandi. And yes your history is correct--but let's look forward: what team do premier players seek to join because of a winning attitude, great clubhouse atmosphere and a supportive, professional organization top-to-bottom? HINT: It ain't in South Florida. |

Both those premier pitchers Cliff Lee and, more especially, Roy Halladay (the consensus pick as the best in baseball) were eager to come to Philly, and Cliff Lee most reluctant to leave. Placido Polanco was equally eager to return and had spread the word about how good Philly was to other top-level players. Raul Ibanez is a good Ambassador to the younger Latin players he coaches and associates with off-season. Just the chance to talk and hang with Jamie Moyer can tip the balance in signing a younger pitcher. Intangibles, yes, but real things that can persuade in getting a player and having winning seasons. It even helps in signing minor leaguers because of the chance to play for the Phightin' Phils and at least the chance to develop and polish their skills in the event they are traded away. This ain't dreaming, this is reporting. Go Phillies |
