Uncle Herman has been selected to ride in The Liberty Belle a restored B-17 that was used in the 1944 Germany mission. We are going from Peachtree Dekalb in Atlanta to Hooks in Houston , Tx. 4 1/2 hour ride in freezing conditions . A real taste of WWII. I will see my friends in Costa Rica Friday - Tuesday and will let you know how the flight went.

Bombers have changed quite a bit since the B-17.

Have a great time!

Here's a video of the B-1 Lancer. My son is a USAF pilot...........flies the "Bone" in close air support in Afghanistan:

He's pretty sure he saved more than one of our guys on more than one occasion.

Just sayin'

Nifty video, Brother GtG; thanks for sharing. My Dad was a navigator/ bombardier on B-24's--came through without a scratch, even through the intense flak of the Ploesti, Rumania, oil fields. BTW n/b's have total control of the plane during a bomb run...or did then. The pilots gettem there and gettem away.
