It seems that renowned tax haven, the Cayman Islands, home to more than 9000 hedge funds, is in such dire financial straits they are thinking of raising taxes and fees on them. Currently the Caymans have no taxes on income, property, corporate earnings, retail sales or capital gains. Here's the full story:

The world financial market is in dire trouble heading in the direction of a desolate landscape. Anybody with US financial interests are worried, and that pretty much mean everybody.

It is just a matter of time before things get very scary!

It wont be long; As soon as they announce that un-employment rate is at 10% I think people will start jumping off their roof's.

This economy is on life support all around the world. and is not getting better any time soon.

Remittance to Mexico from the United State has over the last year been cut in half from $24 Billion a year to below $10 Billion right now. People migrate to the USA from other country to feed their family back in their country. I can just imagine how some of the poorer countries are doing right now because there are no in flow of US $ to support their foreign exchange.. So they cant even purchase food that they do not grow. such as rice, wheat and other product which are the basic food they need to live on.

I can actually see a much greater need for food around the world coming. because countries cannot pay for it.

I'd put this Thread out there as a ho-de-ho but as will happen, it took a serious turn so 3 things:
(1) As I've said before, those unemployment figures are a bogus political construct, The actual figure (including those who are discouraged from looking any more, those discouraged from trying in the first place and those who have to be content with part-time work or other underemployment) is 150 % of the official figures.
(2) The longer one's unemployed, the harder it is to hook up, a sort of "blame-the-victim" mindset by employers. Here's more on that:
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125383516043639305.html
(3) There's been a marked uptick in the number of scams perpetrated on increasingly desperate jobseekers--phoney employment agencies demanding upfront payment, that kind of thing. DoL tries to keep up but is woefully short of enforcement funding and investigators.

I don't mean anything said here to hurt any of the good Brothers who are in this situation. Lord knows, they are discouraged enough.
