Wonder if he had Charlie Eppes from Numb3rs doing the math for him. This has been viewed almost a million times.
A similar set of nutso stunts is that Red Bull series on ESPN--the guy taking a motorcycle on the ramp up to and down from that building.

I'm a skeptic at heart on these kind of videos, but how would that have been faked with a continuos shot and the arms flailing??

That said, that pool must have been anchored to that wood some? Or wouldn't have at least moved SOME when he landed in it? Or shouldn't he have gone thru the water and slammed against the side pretty hard?

Whatever....cool vid....thanks for the link!!

Damn - that guy really threaded the needle with that one. Don't know how he did it, but it was pretty cool. I can only wonder how many practice attempts it took, and where are THOSE videos ?!?! :o

I've seen the video and have to agree with Tstef527. I'm skeptical.

Based on the video he appears to start off head first and then coming off the jump he's feet first.

But damn it was cool to watch.

Patriot,

You've got a great eye.

I went back and watched it again, and ran it frame by frame, and he DOES appear to start off head first! And even though the camera pans out, you can still see his feet behind him as he's approaching the ramp. And you only lose sight of him for a second, but at that speed, there's no way he could've turned around.

I'm calling BULLSHIT on that video !!! Image

Sure fooled somebody--it was on ESPN today (I didn't see it--just saw it advertised, so maybe there was "I'm calling BS" commentary ala Brother MG.

As I understand it, a viral video is one that is linked by people to a bunch of their "friends" who in turn link it to a lot of their "friends", thus spreading it widely as a virus spreads. Like so much else this has been co-opted by marketers to get a message out. Microsoft Office Project is evidently a method of doing this. A similar technique is what is used to introduce and promote a new beer or booze, using paid "influencers" spreading the word a "hip" bars. Subtle or underhanded methods, but, hey, it's a tough world and people especially younger folks mightily resist being explicitly "sold" on something. Psychology--it's a wonderful thing.

It has to be fake, not many would risk it by trying to hit that little target. A miss means paralysis or death.
