http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykVQlkgq650 was the song I originally meant to post.
PacoLoco....Buckethead's hands ARE humoungous which gives him a reach across the fret board which is amazing. Just as a matter of explanation: I did meet and jam with this guy last weekend after his set at Wakarusa (
http://www.wakarusa.com ). He never takes the mask or bucket off, either. As well....he quickly left me in the dust but was kind enuff to come back and pick me back up after he ran circles around my old ass and was also generous enuff to break into some 12 bar blues.....
Yes, he played with Guns n Roses for a time as well as Praxis, which was a fact which had totally escaped me. Bluntly, he was too good for Guns and they dissed him to the max when he split. I am embarrased I hadn't caught onto this guy much, much earlier as I did know about the mega band Praxis from way back. *shrug*
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WM9pWFBTdVc ....I'm no Guns fan AT ALL...is Buckethead with Guns N Roses and a single listen will explain why he got dissed. For me, the speed of his playing is not what is the most impressive. Rather, it's the ability to move in and out of so many varied styles of music.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iw3TT0E0uwU is a compilation of solo's that can also assist one in making a decision about whether this guy is a player or what.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adV8-_hgL4g is a simply fabulous studio 9.5 minute wonderment....
The guy's "act" full on turned me off and at first I just couldn't get past the get up...however once he started playing there was simply no escaping the reality of what he can and does do. There might have been 400 people watching the show. However, he is doing things HIS WAY and for that fact alone I like the guy....he ain't out to impress nobody but himself....
