John Hope Franklin passed on to the other side this week. His body of work had spanned nearly 70 yrs. His books are timeless and worth a look.

I once spent a day in 1993 with James Farmer the Civil Rights activist. I'll never forget it. I imagine a day with the now deceased Dr Frankin would have also been equally memorable. I also wish 'modern' people revered great people and history more.
