He didn’t know he had AIDS for sure until 2006 and the link you provided along with the news I read in the Detroit paper NEVER said that he engaged in unprotected sex with his girlfriend after finding out he had the disease.

That incident in 1996 where he spat in the face of an umpire? Has he (John Hirschbeck) been tested for HIV+, as AIDS can take 7-10 years to show up? I'd be very afraid especially if I was Hirschbeck's wife. Any other MLB HOF players or prospects known to have AIDS? That La Brea tar pit masquerading as my mind wants to know.

That article failed to mention he also had some incredible years with the Toronto Blue Jays. He's the best second basemen I've ever personally seen play. I hope none of this crap is true.
