I have to respectfully disagree with Brother ID in that the Detroit Lions were expected to continue to be miserable--check their record since '01--whereas the the 3 teams listed were expected and on-track to do much better than they did. With my head sadly down though, I would have included the Philadelphia Eagles. The debate on the McNabb/Andy Reid combo continues.

You are limiting your selection to which team was the biggest flop.

Even in that case I do not believe the Jets would qualify. They did not flop. They were a mediocre team that picked up an aging past his prime quarterback. The NY sports writers and some misguided fans** then anointed them Superbowl contenders which in fact they never were.

Based on that I do not consider the Jets the biggest flop but I think the Lions certainly are contenders for the biggest disgrace.

Sadly I do agree with your thoughts on the Eagles. :oops:

I've got to agree with ID. Altho the "Liedowns" have had several dismal seasons, their preseason record fooled all of us. For some unknown reason, we in Detroit were all duped into thinking that we could win a game or two in the regular season---DUH!!! Altho, I'm not really much of a sports fan, who cannot include the Lions as one of the biggest disgraces in professional sports of all time. Thank you Bill Ford Sr.

No other team in NFL history has had a totally winless season. Oh sure, Detroit has one more game to find redemption, but it's doubtful that they will win their next contest.

a 0-16 season. Imagine taht.

:D all of them :D actually i voted the Cubs , they had a great year and did not make it the ws. the Dodgers are pathetic they win 84 games win there weak division :D :D and the Jets just suck :D :lol: :lol: Brett is still good, but Chad is younger and accurate :D definetly helped the Dolphins to 10-5 even if they lose to the Jets they had a good year :D

a team that goes from 13-3 and missed the superbowl by an overtime mistake, they are the worst of the worst 5-10 record and have a chance to make the detroit lions 1-15...
