El Silencioso has been on the receiving end of endless ball busting and degradation for the last few days. ![]() ![]() I think it's time to put it to a vote. Should we leave ES alone or continue to give him what he deserves? Ciaociao |

Senior CiaoCiao, One may certainly argue that the very "POLL" you offer here can be construed as "cruel and unsual extremes of ball-busting" in and of itself ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Nobody begrudges a fan's support of his favorite team. El Silencioso acted like a true fan. The fact that he grew up in Chicago and predictably supported the local ballclub (loser Cubs) is a lamentable and unfortunate occurance, but not his fault. I told him before the Dodgers - Cubs series that I might get a little hard on him but in no way do I mean it personally. He acknowledged this and attempted to dish it out and as he took it, but not having the "New York edge" that yours truly has, he came off as a bit of a light-weight. No doubt this fact prompted your "concern" that we were bullying him. If he was a gent and said "Congratulations" to the Dodger Blue crew and let bygones be bygones and moved on I and others would be happy to let him alone. He has decided instead to post GO PHILLIES to stick it in our craw ![]() ![]() ![]() PHX |

IMNSHO, the amount of abuse a sports fan should receive when his team has been eliminated should be exponentially worse than the expected trash talk that would have taken place should his team have won. There's nothing worse than listening to a guy constantly refer to his team as the "defending champs" in every post during the offseason. So in the event, someone wants to stick their neck out in round freaking 1, good for them, but expect a rough ride should they fail. I'm a Leaf fan, which is like being a Cubs fan when it comes to the NHL. We both need to be put out of our misery or at least put into a ZB 3-way! But ya ya, as per the poll, pile it high and wide I say! |
