Davey made some pretty lame decisions this series
last night there was no way he sticks w a shaky darvish having woods and kershaw not to mention maeda ready to go long innings
Houston pulled their starter up 5-0 and davey lets darvish suck the air out of the room w a 5 spot
he looked bad in the first and wasn't getting his slider over at all
then to let him face springer?
and AFTER all the damage is done he wasted morrow for one hitter w no one on
and kike as a ph in the following inning
no excuse for all those runners lob but it just felt like we were stunned as a team
i think he just expected the offense to pick us up i have no idea
maybe w both roberts and darvish having japenese heritage it was an honor thing?
made no sense
and houston was the better team that took advantage
those guys showed up to play hats off

Would have been a very different game if Kershaw starts, he was nails and he was not going to get knocked around like the previous outing. The non DH line up really threw a wrinkle into Hinch's ideal plans and being a life long Astro fan, i don't miss the pitchers hitting at all. LA threatened early and often but timely D by the Astros negated any potential rally.

i wouldn't have started him
would have gone to wood first and clayton second
darvish deserved the start imo just on a short leash
kershaw pitched just fine w the pressure already off
he can opt out after next year so imo its time to see what he's worth on the open market

I'm basically an NFL guy...

Baseball is too slow for me, basketball is too fast for me, and soccer is nothing short of Chinese water torture as far as I'm concerned, but I'm a huge fan of the amazing Thomas Charles Lasorda, he tells it like it is!!!! :!: :!: :!: 8) 8) 8)
