Out of those choices... Id go with Springsteen. (no disrespect to the KING, if not for Elvis, the others wouldnt exist). Just wondering how you came up with those choices though. With as many members that are on here, Im sure there are just as many choices for favorite. Is there something about those particular groups?

Elvis. The original. 30 years after his death, he still has legions of fans, people flock to Graceland, and current movies feature songs or remixes of them. A lot of people make their living impersonating him, and he earns more dead in a year than most of us make in a lifetime.

btw, I named my bulldog Elvis.

Lately I've been stuck on Mana, Camila, Shakira, and other latin bands & performers. (Shakira only because I get wood when she dances and she's a fav of my favoritas!)

The boss will always be the boss.. and the King will always have his place. But when Relax by Mana or Abrazame by Camila comes on they bring back incredible memories!

Uh....don' know how to tell ya, but Billie Holiday predates "the King" by a decade.

And I doubt very seriously whether James Brown learned anything from Elvis, who himself learned from the best soul singers before him. Springsteen is just Bob Dylan in an Elvis suit...minus the rhinestones.

Allman Bros. - White guys imitating black gospel/blues bands

No...for the soul of a Holiday, the instrumental intricacy of a Grateful Dead, the moves that out-moved Elvis and stage presence eclipsing Springsteen...ya gotta go with James.
