Post subject: | Smokers and non-smokers |
I am a non-smoker and really dislke the smell of a burning cigarette. I resign myself to it when I go to strip clubs, the del rey or places that are strictly bars because it is appropriate in those places. But in a place like the sportmans where there is food served the etiquette becomes more complicated. Many times on this past trip, I would be eating and some one would sit down next to me and light up without asking first. I consider that quite rude since there is food being consumed. The only people who asked if I was cool with it were some of the chicas and one gringo. What does everyone think? By the way, I am not maintaining that I am correct in my opinion regarding this subject- I may not be! Just trying to get a feel for what others think. I think many CRT'ers are smokers. |

I dont like it when smoker sit next to me either makes worse when Im eating also. Im the same way only go in smoking places becasue I know the chicas are in there, but the smell of smoke irritates me and I always move away from the smoke. I feel disrespected everytime someone lights a cigarette in a car, small room or next to me, that how much I hate the smell. Sometimes I dont pick chicas because she is smoking too much Just my thoughts on this subject |

I am a non-smoker, former smoker, and wish to avoid second hand smoke because I have emphysema. But if the establishment I am in allows smoking in a given area, and I choose to be there, then this is on whoever made the rules and me, not the smoker. I`m not going to expect any special courtesies then get upset when I don`t get them. A few times when I was smoking in a public place someone made an issue of it. But I reminded them that it was allowed, and if they were to get upset about it to the point of confronting a stranger, they should instead frequent the many non-smoking establishments. As to smokers in the great outdoors, well if there is no law then it is my job to go somewhere else or hope for a nice breeze. If really troubled my better efforts would be on lobbying for laws against outdoor smoking, and I think a few now exist in some parts of the country. Not sure. |
