Have to agree with Paco  Admin should lock this kind of thread before it gets legs.

Yep, kind of makes you wonder how are Florida's Balls and where will they stay now that Casa Vino won't leave the light on for them anymore?

BTW, what are you drinking now?

Do you like cafe volio ground or prefer the beans and grind yourself?

It is you fellows that are being political and pointing fingers at one party.

What you fail to realize is that I do not trust any of the political whores in congress. I certainly have my problems with G. Bush as well as Presidents before and the one now in office.

Liberals tend to not question what their congressmen do or their legislation intent. They walk in lock step. The only exception is when they think their political support is falling in their districts. Same with the conservatives except they are more likely to question their own party. Ala Maverick John McCain.

I have not seen any mavericks in the liberal wing.

As a businessman and capitalist, I do not trust the stupidity in congress. Neither party.

I am surprised at intelligent men as you fellows appear to be, that you do not study the small print and possible ramifications of legislation being passed by these congressmen. They are not thinking of the country....they are protecting their own selves and political power.

Please read more of the bill and you might find a few surprises in there. Then again, you may not really care.

MD I agree with MOST OF THIS quote but what you fail to see is that when W. Bush got in the seat he pushed 911 into about each one of his spending bills. Dick kept us all scared to death  and the citizens got on there reps to make sure you keep us safe I did not care what it cost.

Now your strongest point was that all of there reps seem to care more about themselves than us  except for (Biden, Hutchinson, McCain, Obama, Webb, Shelby, and Boxer IMHO)

Now our system is flawed no doubt but to have an attitude about the economic meltdown we are in, when no one has a clue how to get out of is criminal

Tim G. was the best I saw this week outside the Prez. He was honest. He said in so many words " look I do not know whats going to work :?

That was our system at its best 8)

This caught my eye today and I about fell on the floor.

Senator Mike Spence (R-IN) dug out a real jewel in the fine print of the Stimulus package, such as "$30 million to protect mice in San Francisco."

You have to give it to those California dudes. They certainly know their priorities.

I wonder if they might reinstate that Rep. bridge to nowhere in Alaska and buy Sarah some hand me down clothes.

All of these congressional fuckers should enroll in the clown college in Sarasota, Fl...... although Ringling probably would not accept them.

That bill is a pork orgy. I am surprised anyone could find the small print earmarks as the Dems have not actually told anyone whats in the bill before they have to vote on it.

Save the mice!

I say again, read the link on Japan's experience in the '90's and then we can have an intelligent conversation. Until then, y'all are whistling in the wind.

This is all you need to know about Obama. They aren't taking any meaningful advise from Republicans because they are only interested in fundamentally legislating change towards wealth redistribution and building a bigger block of dependent voters regardless of how inefficient and expensive it becomes. It's not that complicated.

When Bill Clinton took office in 2000, he overcame a tremendous national deficit, and turned it around so we had a SURPLUS at the end of his 8 year (Democratic) administration. Then along came George W and his Republican administration for 8 years. And under his glorious leadership, we now have the country's largest multi-trillion dollar DEFICIT in this country's history, and our economy has reached new historic low's.

IMO, it didn't matter who got elected president. They were stepping into a huge pile of shit left behind by George W. And I can't imagine anyone doing a worse job running the country than W !!! I'd like to give this new president a fighting chance. It took us 8 years to get here. It'll take a lot longer than a month to get out of this mess. I'm simply hoping things change eventually.

Just one man's opinion......

Were the Republicans stuarts of 6 of the last 8 years

Obama should be impeached if he listens to the same old worn out ideas from them

Until we quit cheer leading for one party or the other, and start holding politicians responsible for there actions. We will always be divided by the colors of red and blue.

This time I voted for change, if nothing changes then I will vote for change again.

Fellows:

I'm only addressing this stimulus bill put fourth by this congress. It is of very importance for this country regardless of whether it works or not. I'm trying to reveal our broken down partisan ability to lead this nation.

Fact: the Republicans were not allowed to participate in writing this bill. That has happened in the reverse also.

Fact: Speaker Nancy Pelosi hurried the vote today because she had a planned trip to Europe this weekend thru next week.....thereby cutting off time for discussion. Here is a most important bill and yet she is more concerned about her trip. BTW, you will not hear about this in the mainstream media. I've looked at all three major networks and not a hint.

Fact: the democratically controlled congress promised a 48 hour hold for the public before a vote on legistation would be held. Did not happen.

The bill was not printed until 11:00 pm last night which gave the congressmen no time to read it. and BTW, several things that were taken out of the bill in the demo agreement with 3 republican supporters, were sneaked back in.

Fact: As reported by a number of demos and repubslicans on the hill, less than 5% of the congressmen have read more than 50% of the bill as of todays voting.

This is not the way I want a very serious bill analyzed and voted on. Do you fellows out there want this type of decision to be made hastily when it will certainly effect what happens in this country. That would be derelict.

I remember Obama in his address stating that before he would sign a bill, he would give the country five days to decipher it. As I heard today, if passed, he will sign it before the weekend is out.

Again, I don't have a dog to hunt here but I do have a mistrust for the political whores who run this country and only strive for political power and not out well being.

I'm open to someone explaining to me if these idiots are actually voting this bill to help the economy or are they padding their political base. Also, why do you vote yes on one of the most important legislative bills this decade and you have not even read the contents. I would like to know.

Mule

Since you fellows went there.
When you cut defense spending and ignore attacks on our interests and our peoples abroad and at home you have a SURPLUS: (Clinton) Thats why when someone had the balls to stand up to people who said and still say they want us dead he had to spend billions on simple things like body armor for our troops:(Bush)
By the way President Obama sees the problem with terrorism and is now escalating the war in Afghanistan.

But that was in the past ,what we need to focus on is the plan proposed today. It will not work.
Why was it not even submitted in time for the people voting on it to read the 1000 pages?
