I allow 15 hours from my home one hour north of Seattle as the crow flies. Airport Shuttle leaves Mount Vernon, WA: 7:50 pm arrive Seatac airport 9:40 pm. Continental leave 12:20 am arrive Housten 6:50 am. Depart to SJO at 9:25 am arrive 1:00 pm. (Only good part early afternoon arrival time). Two hour time difference from Seattle.

$392.54 inclusive depart November 21st , I had enough miles to upgrade to first. Phuck riding in the back of the bus, Never Again for this long of travel.

It’s a haul. I figure I might as well stay a couple months so I don’t have to do it so often.

Leaving SJO a beeaach @ 7:45 am, I have gotten on the plane with No Sleep. Funny I have no trouble dozing off on the damn flight coming home…

North or South Carolina--4 hrs non stop usa air from Charlotte NC..plus connection into Charlotte usually 1 hr..5 hrs total

Both just under seven hours. fly through Immigration and out the door in a cab in 15 minutes..Of course with the obligatory stop at duty free for Flor D Cana and Stoly Razz

connect in CLT and arrive SJO 2:20 pm this January

Depart DFW or Dallas Love Field to IAH (Houston) 7:00 am Then IAH-SJO at 9:30 am arrive in SAn JOse about 12:30 on Continental. I have flown this about 7 times and it has never been late or my luggage has never been lost. There is non-stop on American but it dosen't get tto SJO till about 10 pm You can fly out Love Field or DFW your choice on Continental. For me Love Field is about 25 minutes closer and the parking is about $5 a day cheaper

ATL - SJO 4 hrs.
ATL - GIG 9 1/2 hrs.
Both flights are Delta direct.
Tough call.

SFO to SJO, on TACA #561 redeye, 7 hours, 12:20am – 10:00am, ½ hr in San Salvador, 2hr time difference. $475 to $720. Hour and a half to SFO, 2 hours of check-in…

Or…

MRY to SJO on AA via LAX, 5:50pm – 7:30am, 41/2 hour layover at LAX, but 10min to airport with 20 min check-in. $520 - $685…

You guys in Fla. and Dallas are lucky…

Well sorry but we are spoiled... here in Miami / South FLA... Flight time 2:18 to 2:23 depending on tail winds.....

If you carry on only at MIA there is a special INTERNATIONAL CARRY ON ONLY check in line so you don't have to go through the winding maze of ropes and usually empty.. most people going international do not carry on...

Last but not least... Not checking luggage you have up till 45 minutes before the flight to check in even Internationally so your airport time is reduced dramatically... just another reason to live in South FLA .

I can now see why Rio is very much a South FLA tourist destination as it takes us non stop to rio what it takes many of you to fly to CR...

Miami to SJO: 2:10 to 2:25 On An Airbus 300, 2:40 to 3:00 On 737-800

American Airlines. $239. to $589.
Delta will take you to Atlanta and add several hours and several hundred more $'s
US Air for some reason will go to Charlotte and then SJO.

TACA, Well lets not even go there.
