I am totally against violence toward women but one of the many great scenes was when Michael popped his wife in the mouth after she told him she had aborted his son. So classic and true to his character, but you'd never see that in today's poltically correct movies. I really hated her character in the movie, she was so whiney and frigid and Apolonia was soo hot.

Been a while since I read the book, but I think Apolonia was lectured by her mother that husbands beat there wife’s and she is to expect that on their honeymoon , and when Michael was nice to her the first nice she was shocked.

Yep, he should have married a nice Italian girl to begin with, someone like his mother. Although his sister Connie Corleone (Talia Shire) did absolutely nothing for me. She was whiney and shrill, too.
