But the .13 cents in taxes don’t add up… How does that figure on $2.00? Who has 6.5 cent sales tax on a dollar?

Doesn't Michigan have a 6% sales tax :?: Why do you find 6.5% so surprising :?:

Yes we do and I guess the .5 is what threw me off. I was aware that other states had different sales taxes.

What's odd is each state sets its own rules for what's taxed. NJ exempts newspapers and magazines, but taxes books; exempts clothing; exempts fresh food but taxes prepared food; etcetera. Your state doubtless has similar head-scratchers.
Oh, and about that USE tax--more than one NJ household has been surprised by the tax man coming calling for buying furniture in Delaware (no sales tax), and not paying NJ their proper due. NJ revenue folks can and do audit the records of big-ticket merchants in DE for NJ addresses of purchases and deliveries. They have also been known to stop cars w/ NJ plates coming into NJ with over-the-limit amounts of cigs and booze. Turnabout being fair play, PA does the same to its residents coming back from NJ liquour stores (we have much better selections and lower prices). It's all a game--til you're caught.

You ! I live in Costa Rica and the import tax is more than what I paid in the USA for many things. And here Levi Jeans are 90 bucks due to import taxes. $27.99 at Kohls in the USA.

oops. $27.99 plus tax.

Yeah, but you got year round poosie!!! I can't see why buying clothes is necessary. Just stay in your robe all day as the chicas come and go.

And I may be reading more into it than is there, but I do believe they consider the basis of the lies to be justified."
