Surftown your coments are very tipical of so many in the US--if it is good for the US, it must be good for everyone else-- In actuality, the reason for dirt floors, cold water, etc is because gringos have done so much to "improve" this country. Things like putting housing out of the reach of most Ticos, an electrical 200a currcit breaker (made by a US company here in CR selling for $60 here and $30 in the states, or Walmart buying the 3 largest grocery chains here and raising the prices 10% on everything the next week. YOU CALL THIS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT???
I personally found the vidio to be very original, imaginative, and creative. And I spend a lot of time with Ticos here and even thou I have not taken a poll, I have yet to find a single Tico in favor of TLC. And where the HELL are all these improvements in Mexico???? I am sure the average Mexican has not seen any improvement; unless he is living and working illegally in the USA. Mexico has one of the highest levels of poverity in the world and also has (because of free trade) the wealthist man in the world
Bang Bang your perception is clouded and just plain wrong if you dont think CR economically/developmentally is better off due to US influences, except if you are a green environmentalist against development...which is fine if that is your stance I can appreciate that and people yearning for the way it was with dirt floors and all, go for it whatever floats your boat. Yet I will admit influence of american culture does not improve their culture that may be true.
AND Yes Mexico is better off now if you want to argue otherwise so be it, you just want to play devils advocate to argue. With NAFTA even the poor or average mexican now has a shot at making a very good living and yes that is improvement. Also Mexicos middle class (before NAFTA Mexico did not even have a middle class, little history lesson for you bang bang.... research your facts before you spew garbage), and upper class are exploding which has a ripple efffect on the economy that does make its way down to the poor in some way or another.
Further you point out the difference in price on a 200a circut breaker....well the difference is because of the tax the CR gov puts on it, the trade treaty would seek to eliminate these taxes and equal the prices, yet your dim witted reasoning does not see this, instead you foolishly use this point to try to make your argument when it actually dispells it.
That video was custom made for simpletons with little to no education and Bang Bang you took the bate hook line and sinker.
