Originally on AMC and now on Netflix. A solid drama about building the Trans-Continental Railway. A brutal task in brutal times by brutal men. No hyper-violence and they keep the softer bits in context and short. Solid production in writing, casting, production values--all that money is on the screen. NB to Canadian Bros: shot entirely in the Calgary, Alberta area. Spend 45 minutes of your time now and then, and get invested.

Another tough series is The Cleaner with William Bratt (ex of Law and Order) doing Avenging Angel shtick. Good series with well-chosen music, i.e. this:
