Any boots on the ground information as to how the visit went? Traffic snarled? Were you guys able to make it to the HDR, other bars? Did you get stopped by the policia or Secret Service? More importantly, do you think anyone in the delegation got laid, and did they pay cien? :D I imagine that after the Cartagena fiasco the Secret Service were being good little guys and gals.

I was able to drive from Sabana park to San Jose and back both days in 10 minutes, less time than normal.

I guess everyone else stayed out of San Jose.

I saw his motorcade twice, once in San Jose and the other time going down the freeway toward San Jose from Escazu.

My girl and her family said they were about 10 people back from him at the 'Yellow House'.

So, if anything, It gave me a longer weekend and less traffic.

I hit the ground about 2 hours before him. Staying at Sportsmens was a little bit of a pain on Friday. Traffic from airport to downtown was not a major issue as driver got off main route earlier and came in back way. Traffic was blocked near NF, could get by guards by showing ID and hotel confirmation ( he had not hit the ground yet). Checked in with no problems, few people around the bar and barriers blocking off all streets and no foot traffic near Casa Amarillo except for people with credentials. At least four police officers were up at ever intersection. Called up favoritia and met at the AM PM near Del Rey, Had to walk the other way from SL past the hospital and down avenue Segundo to find and open street. Saw his motorcade on way to Casa Amarillo on Segundo. After meeting my chica we walked past DR and could go around Morazon Park but not through, Walked to bottom of hill but could not go up as meeting was in progress and no one could get by. Took cab around the zoo and up the hill and came in the back way via hospital and Amistad. Got dropped off near SL. Stayed in SL rest of the night. Avenue Central was blocked on Friday and looked like a ghost town area.
On Saturday we could move easier, blockades still around Morazon, main roads back to downtown still blocked off, saw motorcade again near Ch**drens Hospital, by Sunday all was back to normal.
Interesting sideline, since CR has no military vehicles, they were using the oversized garbage trucks to block off main intersections to traffic combined with barricades, The wind was bad on Saturday and the barricades kept falling over.
Local TV showed plane landing, motorcade in progress and departure from airport. Immigration and customs was never easier. Spirit had a 45 minute turnaround window for the Friday afternoon flight.

Thanks, for the update. It just shows that CRT members are a resourceful bunch. Where there is a will there's a way.
