Well if you clicked this thread then more than likely you love music. If so, then I am more than likely the guy you wanna talk to. When I was just a young-un some of my favorites included bands that you may have never have heard of, such as Starz, Gary Moore, the Tragically Hip, Little Sister, Chocolate Dave, the Headstones, the Sons of Elvis, Wild T and the Spirit, the Tea Party, the Eric Gales band and more recently the Excies, Future Leaders of the World , Seether, 10 Years, and Evanescence comes to mind. Lets talk music here and maybe open up some eyes and ears to some new stuff.

I used to have a Eric Gales Cassette, labeled "Summer Breeze".

I sure would like to find that on CD or MP3.
Whenever I do a search I cannot find that title..

Californicationdude, that is why I mentioned some of those bands. I am looking for some stuff that is off the beaten path music wise. Those IMO are all pretty good bands but a lot of people probably have never heard of them. I am sure there are a ton of bands that some people like that I have never heard of as well but I am willing to check them out. Everybody has heard of Led Zeppelin and ACDC, what else is out there?

Here is one for ya from youtube. It is one guy playing an acustic guitar w/ a machine called a looper. By the time it is done it sounds like 5 guys playing when in fact it is only one. He is pretty good, check it out.

if you liked Hendrix then check this guy out. Wild T ;

I like to listen to all kind of music but tend to drift a little off the beaten track. Since I live in Dallas, I'm a big fan of Texas honky tonk music like Dale Watson, Hank III, Billy Joe Shaver, Jerry Jeff, Ray Wylie Hubbard and of course Willie....not that Shania Twain, Toby Keith or Kenny Chesney caribbean bullshit music that Nashville now tries to pass off for country.

I speak Spanish and very much like merengues, salsa, Colombian cumbias, bachata and vallenato.

Other stuff I like are classic rock, ska, new wave from the 80's, reggae, funk...I guess the only stuff I don't like are rap (which is sh*t) and that hardcore satanic hard rock Marilyn Manson type crap.

Anyway, I'll be in SJ this Friday for my virgin trip and hope to pick up on what the Ticos listen to. Take care
