Just finished the last pages of a great non-fiction book entitled "Tokyo Vice" by Jake Adelstein- A perfect summer read, quick, fast an easy 300 plus pages. I first heard about Jake Adelstein on a 60 minutes episode ( link below - 12 minute piece once you get past the two commercials its very engaging ) Highly recommended read.
The 60 Minutes piece is about how the head of the Yakuza crime syndicate hustled his way into the US to get liver a transplant ( within six weeks) for himself and three of his captains at UCLA Medical Center - The book goes into the details on how the Yakuza moved money from Japan to the US thought Casinos paying cash to UCLA Medical Center to get to the top of the transplant list.
