I’ve been thinking about how addicted I am to sex. It is a passion that drives me. I can’t wait for my next fix. Trouble is, I think I’m pretty normal in this regard. We are made this way.

Like most addicts, if I were offered treatment for my addiction I would probably say, “Hell no.” I’m not ready to quit. It is what I love and live for. I am an old man. Let me die in the fight for one last leche. But the world keeps trying to brainwash me. The news is all about the evils of sex with multiple partners or, god forbid, prostitutes. It is not just myself I am hurting. Think of the poor girl who suffers the unthinkable humiliation of sex without love.

Man, I know there are cases of sex workers that are torn apart with what they do, but in most of my encounters this is undetectable. Perhaps it was hard for them the first dozen times, but I’ve got to say that a lot of the girls I’ve met seem to be coping remarkably well with their burden and leaving my room with a smile.

But back to the title of this post…..Intervention. There must be a hundred guys in San Jose at any one time that are addicted to sex. This could be a great opportunity for A&E channel to do a group intervention. They could send down a hundred cameramen with handheld video cameras to follow every one of us around for a day and film all of the filthy action. They would also be sure to film some of the homeless on the streets and the nice folks in the parks at night and point out all of the drugs and crime that go along with our addiction. These things would all go away along with all of the iron gates and razor ribbon if only they could stamp out the sex addiction.

Then they could gather us in a hotel ballroom for our final interview (promising to pay us cien) and surprise us with plane tickets to Kansas. There, we would be locked up with old, female, gringa therapists that treat us for 60 days and in the end we hopefully would go on to contribute great things to society while practicing celibacy or having sex with one partner and swearing that we haven’t looked at porn or masturbated since.

I know it sounds scary, but do you think it could save us? Should I pitch this idea to A&E?

I will try to get better through self help books. Jamrock, I think you have given me a clue. I am not addicted to sex. I am addicted to pu*sy. All kinds of South American pu*sy. I am trying to resist Asia and other continents so that my sickness doesn't spread.

If alcoholism is a disease I think maybe sex addition is a disease. But it is not transmitted through sex. It is transmitted over the internet through a virus that thrives on naked women photos. It used to exist only on the pages of slutty books and magazines but it has made the jump to the electronic age. Only men whose wives have blocked inappropriate sites are safe.

But I think that there may be a cure. My research suggests that the addiction can be modestly dulled by exposure to copious amounts of pu*sy while applying alcohol liberally. Since I don't drink much I need some help with this.

I hope to catch up with you guys in early March. If my research doesn't work out I will not give up. I will keep trying to find a cure for this heavenly madness.

A great hobby and an obssesive addiction are often a matter of degrees. I have often had the discussion with the neverending supply of new guys that ask me about living here. My answer is that it takes a lot of self control. If you have a problem with any of the 4 major vices (alcohol, drugs, gambling or sex) it will likely get worse here. I lived like Jamrock and MH on a three day weekend  for my first 6 months here. I had to stop and get back to a regular life. I still enjoy the scene but it is one day a week or so. The nice part is that it is always available. I like to say that I can fix a bad Monday in a hurry. I do not get too caught up in the definition of an addiction. I think most people realize when they are caught up in soemthing that is bad for them when done to excess.

Bk,

Now that puts everything into perspective. That has to be an exaggeration though because few among us can party like MH and Jamrock on a 3 day. But your point is well made. Thanks for telling me about your personal experience.

All of my 5 day trips separated by 2 months of abstinence have been a prescription for giving new life and energy to the addiction. I need to find a way to spend several months in San Jose to begin the cure and return to a life with a more natural rythym. Meanwhile, party on dudes!!!

Let's wait til DSM-V * is published before we jump to any conclusions (or is that contusions?) about what is or isn't an addiction. Some of us are hypersexual, some hyposexual (no names please) but all of us crave it and it ain't available how we like it in Gringaland.

* Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders--new major revision (#5) due soon and as usual, a storm of controversy about what it includes and excludes (Asperger's Syndrome folks being lumped in with the autistic folks, e.g.)
