Interesting.

When I was much younger (33) my very hot girlfriend and I became vegetarians.
I dropped it after 18 months because my sex drive dropped to zero.

Resuming my carnivorous ways restored my sex drive to the usual 'can't get enough' level.

Vegetarians aren't supposed to reproduce because they are denying their genetic heritage. It's hard to keep it hard all night on a diet of souffle and salad.

We are born with our eyes on the front of our heads and that means we are genetically programmed to be predators (possibly mongers too ) If we were born with our eyes at our temples we would be be prey animals like deer (or ladyboys) etc.

This was probably the chapter that Charles Darwin would have written if he'd lived longer.

While agreeing with some SMALL part of SOME of what they say, the fact is that humans are omnivores. That's the fact, Jack. Now if you're not gonna finish all that steak...?

All that said....PeTA finally produces something I can "get behind" and it gets banned!!!! Banned for girls licking veggies!

When I go to my favorite beach I pass a large billboard from PETA decrying the cruelty of fishing. That kind of nonsense probably turns off the general populace and reinforces the general populations view that PETA types are out of touch.

I was at a luncheon one time. A woman at the table was a loud vegetarian PETA supporter. The meal was buffet style with a beef stroganoff and many other options, including a large salad bar and a veggie soup.

As soon as we started eating, Miss Veggies decided to get combatant with all teh beef eaters. She went on and on about how disgusting eating meat was and, the big brown eyes, their right to live unmolested, blah, blah, blah.

Finally, I could stand no more and asked her what she would prefer we do. She said we should stop eating all meat immediately...to save the animals! She also insisted that were abusing pets as well, everything from goldfish to race horses. "Humans don't have the right to enslave other animals!" Perfect. She had fallen into my trap.

I said, "All right then. Let's say that you are correct and, with the stroke of a pen, we ban all animal ownership and the eating of animals. What will happen then? Do you suppose that the corporate farms that raise beef and chickens, etc, are going to keep feeding and raising those animals? Do you think the dog breeders are going to just keep supporting dogs they can't own? Do you suppose that they would just release the animals and let them wander the streets eating all in sight?"

"Ma am, if we did as you suggested, all domestic animals would vanish in the course of one of their lifetimes. You will have effectively ensured the demise of all the animals you are trying to save."

We finished the meal in peace.

I consider PETA to be a cult, preaching a twisted anti-human religion of how we are "exploiting" animals of any kind. They do nothing that actually help animals, like spaying and nuetering cats and dogs, or conseerving habitat for wild animals.

I put the in-your-face vegans and vegetarians into that same cult. If you don't want to eat meat, fine. But when you demand others do as well and push for laws to spread your religion, well, you're no different than the bible-thumpers who want to turn this country into a theocracy.
