My take on this is that it could blow up in their faces--where the signs AREN'T are, using legal logic, prostitution OK zones. And you can bet a defense attorney will use just that argument, DC ordinances against prostitution to the contrary.

Just another example of the waste of police manpower to enforce laws that are based on morality rather than criminality.

Isn't about time they use the scare resources available to stop the muggings, auto theft, rape, burglary, etc. rather than worry about gambling, prostitution, loitering, etc?

To further Brother ID's point: these scarce police resources if they must be deployed in the morality area, should be used to stop the trafficking (of anything) and not retail sales. Another point is that most Police Dept's management hates this area especially morality crusades because it opens up their department to corruption. I'm sure our Law Enforcement Brothers have something to say about this in support but most of the LE corruption scandals involve this area. If there are problems in this morality area, there has to be better though unexplored solutions than running the hookers out of an area and busting a few johns (which inevitably catches the Mayor's brother-in-law or someone like that). I'm not talking about gangs taking over a neighborhood--THAT is a real problem.= for LE and the Politicos.
