No matter which party you support, this sounds interesting!!

Debt is a 4-letter word.

The concept of financial leverage are the chains "they" shackle you with.

Interesting but the guy should learn math, 85 billion divided by 200 million is only $425 per person not $425,000

I HAVE DECIDED TO BECOME A WRITE-IN CANDIDATE. HERE IS MY PLATFORM:

( 1.) Press 1 for English is immediately banned. English is the official language; speak it or wait at the border until you can.

( 2.) We will immediately go into a two year isolationist posture to straighten out the country's attitude. NO imports, no exports. We will use the 'Walmart' policy, 'If we ain't got it, you don't need it.'

( 3.) When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it.

( 4.) All retired military personnel will be required to man one of our many observation towers on the southern border. (six month tour) They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTHBOUND aliens.

( 5.) Social security

will immediately return to its original state. If you didn't put nuttin in, you ain't gettin nuttin out. The president nor any other politician will not be able to touch it.

( 6.) Welfare - Checks will be handed out on Fridays at the end of the 40 hour school week and the successful completion of urinalysis and a passing grade.

( 7.) Professional Athletes - Steroids - The FIRST time you check positive you're banned for life.

( 8.) Crime - We will adopt the Turkish method, the first time you steal, you lose your right hand. There is no more life sentences. If convicted, you will be put to death by the same method you chose for your victim; gun, knife, strangulation, etc.

( 9.) One export will be allowed...Wheat. The world needs to eat. A bushel of wheat will be the exact price of a barrel of oil.

(10.) All foreign aid using American taxpayer money will immediately cease, and the saved money will pay off the national debt and ultimately lower taxes. When disasters occur around the world, we'll ask the American people if they want to donate to a disaster fund, and each citizen can make the decision whether it's a worthy cause.

(11.) The Pledge of Allegiance will be said every day at school and every day in Congress.

(12.) The National Anthem will be played at all appropriate ceremonies, sporting events, outings, etc.

Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes, but a vote for me will get you better than what you have, and better than what you're gonna get. Thanks for listening, and remember to write in my name on the ballot in November. God Bless America!!!!!!!!!!!

Bill Cosby!!!!!!!!

Too bad Bill Cosby didn't run for office when he was a bit younger. Really!

...of taking this thread way too seriously perhaps, but I couldn't let TripleFFF's talking points by way of Bill Cosby go unanswered.
(1) Press 1--Speaks against the heterogeneous inclusive society so painfully built in the U. S. It also seems aimed primarily against Hispanic immigrants documented or not. You do understand how much of the present day U. S. was formed by theft/warfare/skullduggery against Mexico? And that now they are taking it back through non-lethal and reasonably moral means? We may have made a mistake by not being fully trilingual in the first place (German or Italian being the 3rd language). The idea of an "official" language is repugnant to me.

(2) Isolationism--We wouldn't last 6 months with this posture. I could see screening imported goods more carefully, especially from the likes of China but cutting them off altogether? You can't be serious in going against general economic theory that the low-cost producer should make the goods. You are also going against our own history as we have been for much of the time, the low-cost producer. Considering what Walmart truly is (and don't get me started), they are a poor example to use to prove any point.

(3) Import taxes/tariffs--Great idea. It was in large part the Smoot-Hawley Tariffs that brought on the Great Depression--maybe this time it will be different? There's a term used for those who repeat the same actions time and again, hoping for a different outcome--that term is "crazy". The US consumers pay millions of unnecessary dollars for anything with processed sugar in it because of tariffs against world-sourced sugar, benefitting primarily 1 family and you wish to extend that across the board to all consumer items? I got that right?

(4) Ex-military on the borders--Or what? You deny them a pension? Those pensions have the force of contracts and the US economic system is built on the foundation of the sanctity of contracts. The military does have sway to force commissioned officers to forever do their bidding; enlisted--not so much.

(5) Social Security--In 25 words or less, explain the original intent of the Social Security System. I for one am glad that the present Administration was thwarted from privatizing even part of it--aren't you? Besides you get out in 4-5 years what you paid in and this is NOT contractual. What part are you going to do away with? SSI, and have those folks on the permanent dole?. Also, the idea of an impregnable "lockbox" has been shown to be bogus--where there's a will, there most certainly is a way. That said, I wish there was a way to fund and pay out all the extras that have been hung off the System, but they are the low-cost intake and output of funds. You want to make SS real? Fine--change from a tax on income to one on total compensation and lift the income-subjection limits. You could cut the rates to a 1/3 and still be awash in cash. Want to capture funds from undocumented workers?--Make it more possible for them to be subject to the tax.

(6) Welfare--How exactly do you define the term?--'Cuz in my book. that includes corporate welfare. 2 things about that: the ratio of corporate to personal welfare is 100:1 AND all the personal gets spent/invested saved in the US. That isn't even remotely true about corporate welfare. Oh, and let's have CEO's pass morality tests first.

(7) Steroids Don't some steroids have legitimate medical uses (Prednisone for example)? Plus steroids are so 20th Century--the modern cheater uses such as HGH, for which there is no effective test. Also, I'd agree as you stated if you could absolutely guarantee there are no false positives--which you can't.

(8) Crime Good one here. Let's throw out 5000 years of Judeo-Christian morality founded on justice tempered with mercy and adopt the Muslim ethos. How about the issue of police/ prosecutorial malfeasance? This idea is more like a Prosthetic Surgeon Full-employment Act. By the way, want to compare Turkey's crime rate with the US? Didn't think so, The deterrent effect of even the Ultimate Sanction has not been shown. Why? Because crooks don't think they'll be caught or they are stone psychopaths with limited human feelings even for themselves. End of story.

(9) 1 export Won't Boeing and John Deere be glad to support that? The world needs to eat? Agreed, though with starvation a large and growing problem worldwide, it's not doing too hot a job of that. Tell me again why we use a foodstock like corn to make ethanol? Oh, that's right because it fetches a higher (government subsidized) price as that.

(10) Foreign Aid Total misunderstanding of how foreign aid works in practice. We don't give unrestricted money to Buttfuckistan and the like--80%+ is required to be spent on US goods and services. By the way, are you counting all the arms "sales" and giveaways in whatever totals you come up with?

(11) & (12) Pledge and Anthem in English, natch. But can't we change the National Anthem to something singable and that isn't also an English drinking song? "America the BeautifuL" would do nicely--though I personally think Ry Cooder or Randy Newman could do a heckuva job. The present Anthem was only adopted in 1931 so it's not like it's encrusted with history as the National Anthem.

It seems that times of severe economic distress (1837/1857/1873/1893/1907/1929) draws the nativists, the xenophobes, the Know-Nothings looking for simplistic answers to complex questions right out of the woodwork--and so it is now.
I have not slammed the person--just tried to answer the questions the talking points raised. I re-wrote this post 3 times to take the personal sting out of it--I may not have succeeded. For that, I apologize.
