In an effort to reduce the amount of deaths on Costa Rican roads the transit police have become more proactive. The establishment of random alcohol checkpoints, including during daylight hours for the first time, has reduced the number of DWI incidents. They now are importing German technology to slow drivers down especially in crowded residential area. Check out this video to understand how it works.
